The menace of COVID and misinterpretation and misinformation, it was hardly over, that we got confronted with its new variants.
What was more varied than the virus mutating itself, were the vaccines and so-called "gharelu prayog" to cure it.
Hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, and oximeters were a paucity, but the interesting part is, that not even a year has fully lapsed, and the world or even India hasn't been declared virus-free yet.
New mutations are in the way...
We are more concerned about debating whose fault it is, who didn't take precautions, and what benefits the next lockdown would bring, rather than counter-defeating the hazard itself...
Today, the mask era is over, funky mask accessories have made their way to market, and online shops have bridal dress-themed masks themselves.
Sanitizers have evolved from herbal, luxurious perfume bases to gel-based ones.
In a country, where we had to convert trains into bedstations and mini hospitals, diy the oxygen pumps, who asked if the statistics were authentic after the rage of the first 2 initial years???
Oh, sorry election time, lower electricity rates, and promises for continuous growth in online study mode overshadowed it all.
Where on one side, marriage rates increased in the COVID era, who asked about the paucity which turned to delay and then cancellation of thousands of government job opportunities.... Age relaxation was not a matter, examination conversion to easier mode was... Where many families still struggle for the ration card, to get the basic supply of grains, income from videos of these sufferers, is a great hot-selling property for the videographers.
The virus still threatens to overtake, its origin varies each time, as does it's form... It's high time that international conventions turn to treaties, not only for the supply of medicines but also for collective measures, to have multilateral treaties on related issues.
State governments stop the bickering to strengthen their political agenda and increase their presence, but Unite with each other and make the center accountable.
The honourable Supreme Court sets up benches, especially for the hazard-affected and allied cases...
United we survive, divided we spread not only the virus out of jealousy but also ignorance.
