The festive season with brightly lit shops and houses is blinding....the beauty of women's dresses in shiny wear is unmistakably eye-catching... But allow me a pause.
When even the simplest of rangolis seem breathtaking, sweets, especially sugar-free for the elite, adorn every table, gifts wrapped in ribboned silk are rotating, few notice what surrounds us all, or putting forth the other way, "attention-disruptive-visuals".
The potters and clay-men, still sit on the cold floor, without even a candle to lighten their shiver... Where floating candles and urlis are hot selling, the sellers seldom have a rug to place themselves on.
To top it all, the big websites and shopping malls, seem to have it all now, that too, with "classy- twist" designs.
While we always talk about smoke-free, eco-friendly celebrations, the exorbitant costs of so-called eco-friendly empty boxes, frequently advertised, are smilingly purchased by the classy.
But allow me to pause again, what exactly is eco-friendly? What defines celebration... Well, you may say to each his own, or that this topic is well written and debated upon for years!!!
But is it just a partial glimpse of the gloomy side of bright fashionable trends? Or just a meek author's pessimism, or just a desperate attempt to pen down an article.
I leave the pondering up to you, so do the judgment...
