Old Granny was away from home,
When she picked up her ringing phone,
“What! How did this happen?” Cried the poor woman,
For too sick had fallen her husband; a true gentleman!

Beyond expectations, her husband survived,
Though, his full memory, he never revived!
For five long years, he remained with old granny,
But finally came the day, when he could no longer be seen by any!

His death arrived on the 5th of May,
What old granny felt at that instant, she couldn’t well convey.
The 12 days’ rites were performed whatsoever,
To her plight, occurred a rift in the family two weeks later.

Her relatives didn’t bother to help her out,
Which was the most shocking malfeasance, without a doubt!
Leave alone old granny’s relatives, her own brother didn’t come,
The covid-19 pandemic was an excuse for some!

Old granny cried day and night,
At this time of grief, there was not a single person, to give her might!
Thank God, for her daughter’s family of three was with her all the time,
Whereas her immoral relatives, without hesitation committed a grave crime!

For her relatives, Old granny used to care,
In return, not even an hour for her did those ruthless people spare!
Days have passed, months have gone by,
Instead of consoling, her son(still at her home) used to make her cry!

Such are broken relationships,
Which cause people like old granny, to suffer from hardships!
Like an icing on the cake, these heartless relatives left her,
His very own son too is no better than a monstrous sinister!

God bless Old granny’s daughter and her family,
As they were the only ones to show true humanity!
Except for scolding and scoffing, her son did nothing;
Thinking about her dead husband; old granny spends her days in mourning!
