O lyric love, half angel and half bird,
And all a wonder and a wild desire! - Robert Browning
You’ve walked much to and fro
and searched a lot. But,
For blood, you couldn’t
quench your thirst.
You claimed you’ve no lust
You claimed you love her
The tree above you warned:
‘Beware! My boy’- you didn’t hear.
I’ve no crystal ball with
me, yet I can declare:
You won’t be able to love
anybody because you hated her.
To you it was dawn
when you came to me
But to me, it was the dusky eve
You had the flow of tide in your heart
I had the flow of ebb then.
With a princely appearance
You wanted me to see bare
I hated you. More reasons I have
still to hate you: Objects in the mirror
are closer than they appear.
