She smiles and says ”She’s fine”
But who knows,
What all she hides,
Underneath that sweet little mask of a smile.

Her lips utter,
Giving the most reliable sight,
“There is nothing, not right”.
And her eyes scream,
“There is something not right.”
Which one to believe,
Is still a question
I ask myself, every time she smiles!

She smiles to hide;
Protect her from the judgemental eyes
Eyes that follow her till the night
Haunt her even in the brightest light
I just want to be her knight
To help her through all those fights
I hope she could see it
Just the way I know
Her smile isn’t fine!

The illustrations she made,
Collaborating a bunch of strikes,
Giving out a happy vibe.
But I see her hide
Behind those irregular lines
Amidst those simple lines, she is trying
To pave a way
A way to elope from all the eyes
Eyes that leer around
Forcing her to bring out a fake smile

I just want to be her knight
To help her find
The way to her smile
Remind her of the time
When her smile was fine
When her smile was just a smile,
Full of happiness and delight,
Devoid of sadness and hidden lies
The smile that was never afraid of spreading light.
Never afraid to be out shadowed by any fright
That smile that has the strength,
To brighten up every dim light
That smile that has always find
Its way back after the darkest nights.

On lonely nights, when she cries
I ask her:
Will you make me your knight?
I will be your knight, telling you
Everything will be fine.
And after every crazy fight
Your knight will stay by your side
Helping your smile to find the mile
Leading it to where it resides.

This isn’t the last time,
When you have to go through
Frightful days and nights.
Living itself is a crazy fight
So every time you feel deprived
Think of your knight,
On those sleepless nights
And listen to him as he recites:

Go to sleep, my child
Sleep so you could wake up
To the sunshine,
To the morning light
Wake up to strive
To another day you thrive
But at the end of it
You must decide
Where is that place,
Where you reside?
Along with your woes and lies.

Let me hold you in your bad times
Because you know
I’m your secret hide.
I know there are times when you feel like I am not by your side
In those times, recall these lines
And remind yourself
That I am there, right behind.

Don’t be afraid to take a different line
Always hold your head high
It’s ok if you can’t rise high
Just don’t let others make you feel sad
For what all you have toiled
Be proud of what you have
As I am proud to have you by my side.

On the days when the sun doesn’t shine
All you have to do is survive
Don’t think about “Why?”
If you try, then
There will come a day when you realize
That it was all for this day to come by
On the days you feel like the world is no longer bright
Go to sleep, to wake up
To wake up to the bright morning light
Leave it on the sunshine
It will make the world bright
For now, it’s dark now
Leave all your worries in your secret hide
And fall asleep,
With a blissful mind
To wake up to strive

Amid the clouds of the stormy night
I have my shadow,
Who turns into my knight
In the darkness of the night.

My knight has made me realize
This is my world and I have to make it shine
Fearing and crying won’t make things right
I have my knight,
Who is working to bring back my smile
So I must fight
Every evil that tries to bring down my knight
After all, he is my stronger side
And I am not weak, with him on my side.
