It has such a horrible, dystopian vibe. The extravagant invitation, which is circulating online, is for Rihanna and costs 72 crores. My issue is not with capitalism or wealthy people flaunting their wealth; rather, it is with how flawed our system is.

1. The Jamnagar pre-wedding ceremony

For this occasion, Jamnagar Airport was turned into an international hub. It is often only a domestic airport. Weeks of celebrations preceded the couple's wedding. Celebrities like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates were on the guest list for the three-day celebration that the Ambani family threw in Jamnagar in March. Diljit Dosanjh and Rihanna gave private concerts for their guests in Jamnagar.

2. Pre-wedding cruise party

After the festivities in Jamnagar, there was a pre-wedding luxury cruise that visited France and Italy. On a luxurious cruise ship sailing from Palermo to Portofino, 800 A-list celebrities from around the globe will be partying with the Ambanis from May 29 to June 1. The brightest stars in Bollywood, including Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor, have flown down to take part in the festivities.

3. Sangeet

Global celebrity Justin Bieber graced the pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which was held in Mumbai. According to reports, he received $10 million payment to participate in the ceremony.

The Ambani family organised several events in the week preceding the July 12 wedding, including a garba night, a sangeet at which Justin Bieber sang, a mass wedding for fifty disadvantaged couples, a haldi and mehendi ceremony, a mameru ceremony, and a Shiv Shakti Pooja. Three other celebrations took place after the actual ceremony.

However, it was estimated that the outfit would cost about Rs. 214 Crore. A guest at the Ambani wedding disclosed on The Ranveer Show which stores charged guests and which ones didn't. Ranveer Allahbadia, a YouTuber and podcast host who was invited, has increased anticipation by disclosing behind-the-scenes information about the extravagant and large-scale Indian wedding. They discussed how the Ambani family distributed designer goods at no cost to each other. He claimed that at the wedding, several stores were giving away free items like bracelets and high-end sunglasses. Shops were handing out bracelets. He disclosed, "I've heard they're giving away designer sunglasses, like Versace sunglasses." Some of them did not charge. Some of them merely handed you things. It was absurd," he continued. Singh said that there were jewellery stores at the wedding location where guests may purchase items in response to Allahbadia's question about whether there were any establishments that cost.

It simply makes me sad for a nation where individuals can struggle to make ends meet on as little as 500 rupees per week and still manage to survive. The elite attend the school run by Ambani’s for their children. They may give a lot of help to the underprivileged, but all of the publicity appears to highlight how much money they spend on these events. It appears that the son adores animals. The PR merely highlights how much he is doing for these creatures now that he has taken them out of their natural habitat. India's position is getting worse very quickly. Anant Ambani's phoney and childlike behaviour is all over social media. He has practiced his speech patterns and mannerisms, and journalists are asking him framed questions. It appears as though the media is no longer impartial.

It seems to give Mukesh and Nita Ambani pleasure to show off their strength. The way they lavish so much money, expecting politicians, business moguls, and top celebrities to dance to their music at events. The way they blatantly flout the law and treat it as their own, moving animals at the whim of the owner, consuming alcohol and serving it in a state where prohibitions apply, turning a domestic airport into an international one for their convenience, etc.

The truly tragic aspect is that, despite being extremely wealthy, influential, and well-known themselves, the guests and people invited to their events appear incredibly helpless in contrast. They sit and feed this family's whims and preferences, looking like commoners and bootlickers. All of this demonstrates unequivocally that they have strong support and a close relationship with someone holding a highly influential position in this nation. Their arrogant and self-assured behaviour indicates that they think they are untouchable. They have never been able to behave with such transparency as they are doing right now.

We live in a democracy. It saddens me that no one wants to speak up about this garbage and express their opinions. Bollywood as a whole was observed getting on a school bus. Voting directly for the Ambanis should be possible. Despite being in a sensitive area given its proximity to Pakistan, Jamnagar Airbase was permitted to operate, and Air Force staff are currently serving Ambani visitors this week. The utter lack of response from self-described nationalists only serves to highlight how corrupt nationalist speech and our country's moral compass are.

India is slowly but surely becoming an oligarchy in front of our eyes, and we are blind to it. Should this pattern persist and specific corporate associations maintain their vast power and influence, the harm will be irreversible and our democracy will be seriously threatened. This much authority and flexibility should not be granted to any one group.
