Introduction:

An old saying, "Habits die hard", conveys the fact that good habits must be imbibed into one's mind at an early age since what is practiced at the age of five, will help you until the age of fifty. On the other hand, evil habits like smoking, drinking alcohol and chewing tobacco should never be tried or even thought of, especially during youth as these evil habits will lead to death, at an early age.

As you sow, so you reap!

One must recall the proverb, "As you sow, so you reap !". Good crops help you to nourish the body cells and grow as healthy human beings. On the contrary, evil crops like narcotics spoil not only the land on which they are grown but also ruin the precious lives of those who get addicted to the evil habits of smoking, drinking alcohol and chewing tobacco.

Look before you leap!

If you tread in the correct path. it will definitely lead you to the correct destination safely. But if you go through bushes or thorns, you will get wounds and injuries or face the evil consequences. Hence your eating and sleeping habits must be definitely wisely chosen and decided since these two activities determine your well-being and longevity.

Eating habits:

A balanced diet which includes carbohydrates, protein, fibre, vegetables, fruits and nuts, milk, eggs, green leaves, etc. is a must for the body to grow stronger right from the young age.

You should never skip breakfast since the empty stomach causes gastric and ulcer problems and also deteriorates your physical strength.

An apple, a day keeps the doctor away !

  • Eating apples or bananas regularly help in digestion of food and in avoiding constipation.
  • A vegetarian diet is always advised to be followed by doctors since it is good for growth and can be digested easily.
  • Eggs can be consumed as a supplementary food for providing proteins to your body.
  • As you grow older, eat in small quantities but at regular intervals.

Sleeping habits:

We are all diurnals and so we are active during the day time. Hence proper rest is needed for the body in the form of a sound sleep during the night time. Medical experts say that a minimum of eight hours sleep during the night time is absolutely necessary for everyone for normal health.

You cannot completely avoid stress as you grow up but you must learn to overcome stress or anxiety through meditation, yoga or exercise. Even a few minutes of walking helps you in digestion and to overcome stress since it is a means of relaxing your body and mind.

Conclusion:

  • Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. The early bird catches the worm.
