With what should I compare her
black tresses to the inky dark nights
her rosy lips to the just-bloomed roses
her eyes were sparkling stars
and her teeth were the pearls from the ocean
the shores were her milky curves
and she encompassed the colours of the earth
she smelled like petrichor
that turned me on
yearned to bottle up her scent
her limbs were like the fluid reeds
that swayed as she pleased
silvery stars were her hair adornments
her dresses were of the finest silks
her bodice was fitted with sparkling gemstones
that dazzled like a thousand suns
she ruled the galaxies
with an iron fist
that everyone bowed to her
her chariot was drawn by ferocious lions
and she kept tigers as her pet
birds of paradise woke her up
and peacocks danced for her merriment
mortals fawned over her striking beauty
and she was lusted by everyone
her court was resplendent
with glittering jewels
that were bought from the chasm of the earth
her coffers were filled to the brim
and spread her bounty to every nook and corner
burlesque men waited at her bidding
and voluptuous women at her beck and call
she commanded a fear
and demanded reverence
from those around her
that nobody had the gall to say no
she struck fear in the hearts of the enemies
and love in those near and dear
she was swift to rule
and slow to love
she was akin to the Mother Earth
that bore everyone alike
she had a generous heart
but her sting was like the scorpion
she flashed the hues of the rainbow
and unforgiving like the lightning
she was the incarnation of the celestial being
that I had the chance of holding
wanted to serve her every whim
and fill her with my love
till the brim
till she is a glutton for my taste
and centuries will pass
till I get tired
of her seductive grace.
