To define living creatures science has declared many processes a living body should do. And for the supposedly living body to be alive it's heart should be beating. This was a detached, logical, and scientific way to describe someone and could be considered a bit insensitive. But facts are facts. Some philosophers say that as long as the person's will is alive that individual is not dead but if the person is living and his will has died then he is no longer alive. By 'will' they mean his ideals, his legacy, his memories, and the causes he stood by and vouched for. As long as someone remembers them they are still alive. But what according to you being 'alive' is if you take a spiritual approach and abandon reason for a moment?

Some would say that being happy makes them feel alive and some would say that pain reminds them that there's still life left in them. Some would say skating, swimming, flying, singing, laughing and enjoying with your favourite people makes them feel happy and alive. Some would say being in love makes them feel their hearts and some would argue that coming out of it is when you touch reality. But all being happy or alive like exhilarating feelings comes to towards the person's freedom. If they are free of all the shackles all the barriers then only they can feel alive. Yes even if you are a prisoner to your limitations your mind works to your free will and it's boundless. You can skate, you can jump, you can dance of your own tune and this is passed on and on. You only have to think "Why not ?". Gone was the day you cried lifelessly even if it's yesterday and now is the present to be alive. Because everything passes and not even someone insignificant as an ant stays just because facts are facts. So why not put on your skates and soar through the sky jumping boundlessly or grab your swimming trunks and dive into a sea of a different universe? Yeah, oceans are still as mysterious as another universe. If you want to play then play, if you want to study then study because tomorrow never comes. There's so much life energy in every person that they can go to the moon and back and around the world world. But there's this one last thread of rationality that pulls people back from their adventurous endeavours filled with pleasure all it asks is 'Why not '. Why can't you skate? Because you don't have skates and a place to glide or you are physically incapable or your parents forbid you to indulge in recklessness. Why can't you swim? You are afraid to drown, you don't know how to swim, you don't have a place to swim. Why can't you go to a place you like or the uni you want? That's a variety of reasons why not. First of all money, a load of money,  and then talent, and the most important is hard work. While these why-nots are unpleasant and make your heart ache and eyes sting with tears but this fibre of rationality is also what pulls back the mind from the dark place before we harm those around us. It tells us what our morals are and what kind of crime we were about to commit against the living being and against our morality in throes of hurt or passion of pleasure and our carelessness.

Being careless and carefree are two different things. One is showing negligence and the other is being not being burdened. The thought "why not" prevents carelessness and promotes carefreeness.

With people in this time acting on their selfish desire to hurt others without any regard are losing a big time. They do not think of the reason they just want to plunder and destroy. Like a king who wants to conquer and expand his territory doesn't think waging a war would do to the defenceless. In this age, people who are considerate are harder to find and people who act on impulse are every corner.

If everyone just cares a little about one another, even just a little bit of thoughtfulness, someone will smile through their tears thinking of you. A poor neighbour won't go to bed empty stomach. A kid won't have to shiver in the cold outside without any shelter. Someone's heart will finally see some light. Someone's mind will be less burdened. A day you don't choose violence is a day worth living. It's the day you gain one more friend. It's the day you do a huge favour on yourself. A day you choose to help a friend is the day you gain much more than you lose. The day you help a stranger is a day you gain a new friend because a friend in need is a friend indeed.

The day you choose not to act on your anger is the day you see a vast world of deep emotions and turmoils everyone is going through even if it's a little kid barely taller than a shrub. Mostly anger is the culprit that makes people become careless, insensitive, inconsiderate, and blind and only concerned about lashing out on account of their own events. That is when they say the most hurtful things. Words spoken are like an arrow released from the string that cannot be taken back no matter how much you want to reverse the situation. For instance, an arrow could miss the target but words cannot and the damage is greater than any of those projectiles. Anger is like a parasite eating you from the inside till you are nothing but a human-shaped rage-filled balloon ready to burst anytime. Anger clouds our judgment and we cannot see past that hazy mist and continue to spout our own grievances digging a pit ourselves. We keep free falling into that pit unconsciously till we hit the ground and realise that it's our grave and there is nothing we can do now. Those wounded eyes and painful cries we ignored will come back haunting you reminding of your own nasty temper. It doesn't let us see past our problems and think what the other we are using as a punching bag is broken and bruised. Come to your senses before you hit the grave because if you are still dawdling your grave will be merciless to you.

There is redemption for every crime if you are sincere enough. Apologies never make a person appear inferior but show how great you are. We are afraid of losing face and our arrogant self is sitting atop the throne of our ego but we forget that there is not a throne that hasn't fallen and the history of the world can testify to it. So let go of your petty excuses and apologize, make to them for the time lost you could have been laughing even in your distress and supporting each other. Lend a hand, share your pain, and listen to theirs also because at the end of the day, everyone is a lonely being looking for a shoulder to cry on and jokes to share with. Be someone's shoulder, not the whip butchering the already mangled flesh of broken expectations. Apologize, you owe them. Take responsibility of your actions, realise the how far your vicious and snarky self has upturned the skin of the other. And learn to listen to your conscience. It's always screaming but anger makes you go deaf. Anger is the enemy. Stay silent and sit tight if you are angry next time.

Give meaning to your life and walk forward without trampling hearts and being smothered by guilt poured by our conscience. There are many ways in which any abuse of words, and weapons are not involved. Listen to the people, plants, and animals around you and think how can I solve this instead of wallowing in your own misery and pitying yourself because you are not some pitiable, helpless being. You are the enigma of all living beings capable of even reaching the moon. O why is it so hard to reach towards the heart of the other? Think and you will find your clear broad vision and rent-free places in your heart.

If someone wronged you become a better person than them and never yield to injustice. Revenge is never the answer. People think of destroying the person who caused them harm as a big revenge but the best revenge is to be better than him and bigger than him. The hand that person to the police, you don't have to do a thing to make them feel pain because while abusing you they have already destroyed themselves, and if they don't see the light they will fall with a thumping sound in their grave and boulders of their crimes.

Be someone who can make the world better. Be someone who can wipe the tears of others even their own are threatening to fall. Be someone who can share warmth so there will be one less person frozen to death. Be someone who can give away without a painful tinge in their heart so that there will be one less person falling asleep hungry and thinking about where would they get food from the next day. Be someone so naturally calm that storms come to you and become light breezes. Be someone's ear to listen so that there will be one less person to jump off the roof. Be someone your parents are proud of and can rely on. Be someone who can control their anger, envy, greed, and impulse so that there will be one more person who isn't destroying themselves. Be kind to yourself and others. Nothing stays and every day you live is another day you gain more to lose in the end. Cherish it while you can even if it's a good feeling, food, or people. So think why not live a good life?
