From six feet under,

I watch the world in great wonder.
I lose myself in the moist earth's intoxication,
as my body perseveres through worms' invasion.
Fate introduces me to this whole new revelation,
I look at life now in reverse reflection.
My life wasn't supposed to end so untimely,
as it was filled with promises so brightly.

As I first looked into the light of the day,
my household broke into a joyful gay.
As I took my first steps in bright sunshine,
mother cried looking at that sight, so divine.
Hopes and promises showed in my grown - up years,
As my parents showered the divinity with prayers.

My excellence in academics,
wove the tapestry of my dreams.
Bigger achievements in the professional world,
helped me taking
 bolder steps forward.
My ignited mind always craved excellence,
that was where I found my ultimate solace.

With my feet firmly on the ground,
my joy knew no bounds,
at the arrival of love and affection,
from my most treasured person.
We were about to begin our family with caress,
when destiny's cruel blow broke our glass palace.
My ominous health symptoms put us in nightmarish dilemma,
when the doctor delivered his final word: carcinoma.

From one doctor to another,
from one hospital to another,
like a lunatic with a mad pursuit,
I kept running just to recover.

But destiny was not in my hands,
as time ran out like quicksand.
At last so unbearable became my agony,
I had to say goodbye to life's cruel irony.

From six feet under,
I watch you all now in great wonder.
Stay healthy, be at your best,
live life to the fullest.
I have this only regret.
I couldn't have that little home,
my wife and I had once dreamt.
