Source: Mostafa Meraji on Unsplash.com I saw a woman,
in the mysterious alleys of lost civilizations.
Her eyes sunken in the blue burrow of oblivion,
as eternity smiled on her face.
She was born before time.
As an asteroid breathed life,
inside her starry womb,
I was born.
The odour of grass, kissed by the first sunlight,
covered my entire frame.
She called me Adam.
Then I found her, in a quiet morning.
Taking my scholastic hands in hers,
she helped me write Rig Veda.
She consoled my soul,
on the battlefield of Kurukshetra,
as I, the ill - fated Arjuna,
mourned the merciless killing,
of my son, Abhimanyu.
She prayed by my side, to my God, Amen,
in the palace of the Pharaoh Ramesses, myself,
as my beloved Egypt was devastated by plague.
She set the rage of fire inside my muscles,
when at the touch of my powerful cudgel,
the Red Sea paved the way to the liberation,
of the Biblical Hebrew nation.
My people hailed me, "Moses, Moses !"
And then I found her, placing her hand upon mine,
when I, the ignorant Prince Siddharth,
comforted an arrow - pierced crane,
in my palace garden.
On my quest for salvation,
she guided me,
to attain the enlightenment of Buddha.
And how she lamented on my death bed,
in the palace of Babylon,
when I, the ruler of the known world, Alexander,
bade adieu to my unfulfilled life.
She was by my side in tears,
inside my terror-stricken Roman palace of Caesar,
when the traitor knives of my betraying senators
pierced my heart into pieces,
as I cried out, "Thou too, Brutus!"
And then, on the summit of Mount Calvary,
a bereaved mother, she cried at the foot of the cross,
upon which, I, the crucified Christ,
carried the agony of mankind.
As the drops of my blood soaked her hair,
I dissolved into her, forever.
That woman,
the perpetual soul inside me,
justified my entity,
amidst the mysteries of time,
towards the hallow of eternity.
