Sun shines every morn,
As I behold the smiling face of my mom.
And her divine touch and kisses on my tiny frame,
as I take my first steps on this earthly plane.
And through my growing - up years of days and nights,
alongside my elder sister as the guiding light.
She covers and takes me through the alleys of life,
as the mother bird takes her offspring to its first flight.
Fatigued and bruised in life's fight,
I get moments of respite,
in the shadow of my father,
as we spend those beautiful hours together.
And how we all merry make in those moments of joy,
having good food, my mother cooks with tenderness,
we spend our days through the moments of happiness.
Footsteps and their smiling faces,
As Grandpa and Grandma pay a visit,
our house erupts with a joyous fit.
Then comes the day,
When I bid my sister adieu,
like a queen, she goes in her wedding dress,
alongside her handsome beau.
And in my mature years, as life takes me far away,
from that happiest corner on Earth,
at the end of every busy day, I think,
how I miss those moments of mirth.
Then again as holidays come nearby,
we get together in that house of ours,
as we celebrate those moments, joyous.
Days, years, and decades go by,
as times fly,
in that house with laughter and blessings,
that surround us with heavenly bliss.
But suddenly, those sounds of merriment become distant,
and into the mist, they disappear,
with their faint resonance ringing in my ear,
as an old man myself,
staring at that old family - photo on the wall, alone,
as many summers ago,
my loved ones were forever, gone.
