On May 10th, India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire. This means both countries agreed to stop fighting. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistan’s army officer called India’s army officer, and both agreed to stop all military actions on land, in the air, and at sea from 5 PM Indian time.
However, the surprising thing was that the public did not hear this from India or Pakistan. Instead, Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, posted about it on social media. He said the ceasefire happened after talks that lasted all night, and it was with the help of the United States.
But only a few hours later, Pakistan broke the ceasefire by starting to fire again. Sadly, this has happened many times before. When Pakistan loses, they often start attacking again. This makes it very hard to trust Pakistan’s army and government.
Pakistan has supported terrorist groups for many years. After a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which was done by a Pakistan-based group called TRF (a part of Lashkar-e-Taiba), India responded with Operation Sindoor. In this operation, India targeted and destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan. These camps trained terrorists to attack India. India made sure that no civilians were harmed during the strike.
But Pakistan reacted in a cruel way. Instead of stopping terrorism, they attacked civilian villages in India along the Line of Control (LoC). In Poonch, a city near the border, 16 civilians were killed and 59 were injured, including many children. For example, two 12-year-old twins, Zain and Zoya, died while trying to escape to a safe place with their father.
Such acts show that Pakistan’s army behaves like a terrorist organisation. They kill innocent people, including children. It is important that the people of Pakistan understand what is really happening because their media and government often hide the truth from them.
India’s strikes were only against terrorist locations, not civilian or military areas. The aim was to stop terrorism without hurting innocent people. Terror camps that were hit included:
These camps were not just for attacking India. Sometimes they also harm Pakistan’s own people. For example, in the Peshawar School Attack in 2014, over 130 children were killed by the terrorist group TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan). These terrorists have killed over 80,000 Pakistanis in the last 20 years.
Even Pakistan’s own leaders have admitted their mistakes. In interviews, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and former PM Imran Khan admitted that Pakistan has supported terrorist groups for decades, especially during the Afghan War. However, they still claim that these groups no longer exist, which is not true.
Indian leader Shashi Tharoor rightly said that Pakistan often denies everything. For example, they denied their role in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks until one of the terrorists, Ajmal Kasab, was caught alive. They also denied knowing about Osama bin Laden, who was later found hiding in Pakistan near a military base.
Even though the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) removed Pakistan from its grey list in 2022, terrorist activity increased soon after. Satellite images and intelligence reports showed that terrorist camps like Usman-o-Ali and Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur grew in size. These camps continued training and recruiting terrorists openly, even holding public gatherings.
Despite clear evidence, Pakistan fooled the FATF and also received a $2.3 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Indian leader Owaisi criticized this and called it the "International Militant Fund", saying it would only support terrorism.
Terrorism in Pakistan is also supported through drug trafficking. In 2021, India caught 2,900 kg of heroin at Mundra Port, worth over ₹21,000 crores. It was part of a plan by Lashkar-e-Taiba to sell drugs and use the money to fund terrorism in India.
Lashkar-e-Taiba was formed in 1986 and has done many terrorist attacks in India, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2006 Mumbai train bombings, and the 26/11 attacks. Even though Pakistan once banned their charity wing Jamaat-ud-Dawa, they still use it to support terrorist actions, especially in Balochistan.
Because of all this, Pakistan’s own people are suffering. According to the 2024 Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 140th out of 163 countries, showing how unsafe it has become. In 2024, Pakistan faced 905 violent incidents, and over 1,600 people were killed – including both civilians and security forces.
People are even dying from stampedes while trying to get free food, like the one in Karachi in 2023, where 11 people died during Ramadan. These include women and children. In another incident in Charsadda, people died trying to get free flour.
This shows that Pakistan’s leaders have failed their people. They fight India to gain power, lie to their own citizens, and support terrorists who even kill Pakistanis. They do not respect democracy, as no Prime Minister in Pakistan’s history has completed a 5-year term. Some are shot, exiled, or jailed.
India wants peace, not war. It wants to grow its economy, educate its youth, and develop technology. It does not want anything from Pakistan. India only acts when it is attacked by terrorists.
The truth is simple: Terrorism hurts everyone—Indians, Pakistanis, and even children. The people of Pakistan must wake up and ask their leaders to stop supporting terrorism and work for peace and development. Only then can both countries live in peace and safety.
