“Pollution is nothing but the resources we are not harvesting. We allow them to disperse because we’ve been ignorant of their value” - R. Buckminster Fuller Scientist (1895–1983)
We always hear people blame the government and the people, but why not start with yourself? Even my father-in-law, when listening to the news or watching television, how our city in landfill made pills of garbage, and how to effect global warming plastic, always says, the government not doing anything for the citizens and the city.
And we often hear people say that there isn’t much winter in Delhi these days, and about smog and pollution, but we don’t remember everything that happened to us.
First, change yourself, not others. If I started from our house, we always mixed wet garbage with dry garbage. Why not understand this garbage handle from yourself?
Our homes are the first and most important places to start when it comes to being environmentally responsible. The blame game frequently masks our own involvement in the current issues
Separating wet and dry trash is an essential part of effective waste management. Our everyday actions may have a major positive influence on the environment if we adopt this easy habit. We may start with our own homes and put in place a system that separates kitchen trash from other kinds of waste. This has the added advantage of producing compost that is rich in nutrients for our crops in addition to making recycling more efficient.
When managed properly, dry waste—which is sometimes disregarded in the waste management process—can be a significant resource. The secret to turning what may be seen as "waste" into usable resources is recycling. There are people whose livelihoods depend on gathering and reusing these materials in various countries. In addition to increasing their revenue, we make sure that materials such as metal, paper, cardboard, plastic, rubber, and more are reused, which lowers the need for new resources.
People may incorporate a number of additional sustainable practices into their everyday lives in addition to garbage management. Smaller adjustments like using less water and energy and choosing eco-friendly items add up to a more sustainable way of living. Adopting these practices lessens our environmental effects and encourages others to do the same.
The cry to protect the environment necessitates mental adjustment. Make small changes in our lives and save plants. Just do simple things like segregation of trash. This is a reasonable and necessary necessity if I give living our environment.
