Dear Reader,
Isn’t it amazing, how we don’t even realise the course of time passing by, so quickly that it does not even catch our attention? Not even slightly. We are always so engrossed in our own little bubbles that we don’t even realise the greatest art of all times created by an all-pervading one, Nature.
Let’s be honest, every single one of us, no matter how extravagant our life is, wants to escape it at least once. Yeah? But have you ever thought why? No, I am not talking of the times when you are surrounded by problems and want to just run away from them, just anywhere. I am talking of the longing feeling you have at times even when everything is just right or you think so. As if you belong somewhere else, Just not where you are.
Let’s imagine, You standing in front of a vast, endless ocean. Your eyes could only see blue, glimmering water dancing on its own rhythm and pace, teasing you with an envious freedom it has. The cool breeze hitting your face while slightly brushing your hair backwards, making a ticklish feeling on your skin. The waves that lost their way dancing over the ocean come and hit your feet to only find their way backward. You breathe deep, to savour the moment. You can see the light orange colour splashed across the sky as if someone threw an orange paint across the canvas, as the sun descends below the horizon. The blue, calm ocean glitters and looks as if it is embracing the sun in its arms. The sand under your feet feels cool and you crunch your toes into it. You can hear the chirping of the birds, gliding across the sky as they find their way back towards their loved ones, their own homes they built with love.
You feel everything and nothing at the same time.
You feel an unexplicable surge of emotions, your skin experiences a sensation that makes your hair stand, you experience a serene and an overwhelming feeling spreading across your veins, you exhale deeply. You are not thinking of worldly affairs anymore.
You just don’t care or you feel it is not worthy anymore, perhaps.
You are not worried about that presentation you must give next week, the deadlines for work, the household chores, the desire for a bright future, the pressure of being better than others, the people, the expectations, the urge for validation, admiration, praise, recognition; everything that has tied you to an exhausting world.
It feels meaningless now. For what purpose? To be happy? To keep others happy? To fulfill your desires? To live a meaningful life?
Think. Question. Reflect.
You must be thinking, Where is this going? What is it that is being conveyed?
You are born and are left into this world to explore. You crawl, walk, run, fall, again stand up, study all over your first twenty years, make profound memories, experience joy, sorrows, excitement, remorse, hurt and move on, meet people, make friends, spend time, cherish them, make your career, marry, have kids, look after them, take care of them, establish a family, create value to society, make them a responsible person, leave them to wander on their own and then see them flourishing in their life or if you are unlucky, these may be painful memories and then well… you die.
The feelings, emotions, experiences which made you who you were, which constituted your whole life, which set you apart as unique are perished with you. This world will never know the journey of yours from your perspective. A life that once wandered earth leaves with no trace as if it never existed.
Your kids might tell your stories to next generations but how far? Do you remember your great grandmother or their incredible stories? Did you ever get to experience how their life was from their own point of view?
Imagine how unbelievably exciting it would be if we can.
Everyone must die. We can’t be immortals. Our bodies are meant to be perished and our existence to be gone. But, should our journey, experiences meet the same fate?
Absolutely not.
How?
Write.
Write your life journey, experiences, memories, moments and pile them up till the end. A mother passes values and morals to her child by making the child learn. Pass those experiences to next generations and urge them to do the same.
Because, we live a very short life and the way to experience paramount is to borrow it from others.
We perish, don’t let your existence perish.
