  2. For the filling, heat some oil in a pan add finely chopped garlic, ginger, and onions and saute until onions turn clear.
  3. Add finely chopped chicken or vegetables to the pan and cook until the meat is cooked 50%- 60 % or until the vegetables get tender.
  4. Season the filling with soy sauce, salt, and pepper, mix well and let the filling cool.
  5. Roll out the dough into small circles, about 3-4 inches in diameter and place a spoonful of the cooled filling in the centre of each circle.
  6. To make the momos, seal the edges of the dough circles, forming small pouches with the filling inside.
  7. In a steamer, bring water to a boil and place the momos on a greased steaming tray or basket for about 10-12 minutes until the dough becomes clear and cooked.
  8. While the momos are steaming, prepare the soup in a separate pan, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a boil, and season it with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  9. Once the momos are cooked, carefully place them in serving bowls and pour the hot soup over the momos.

For the dough:

  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 
For the chicken filling:
  • 1 chicken breast, finely chopped
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and yeast, gradually add warm water and stir continuously.
  2. Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough.
  3. Pour the vegetable oil into the bowl and coat the dough with it, cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about an hour.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat, add chopped garlic and ginger and saute until fragrant.
  5. Add the chopped chicken to the pan and stir with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add the cornstarch mixture to the chicken mixture to thicken the sauce, season with salt and pepper to taste and remove it from heat and let the filling cool down.
