Greetings bookworms! Would you mind sharing a few treasured minutes to take a quick trip down your memory lanes and try to remember that one juncture where you actually got motivated towards reading.. Do you remember that incident, that first moment you fell irrevocably and irresistibly in love with books? Well, today I would like to share with you my special moment about the time I first got introduced to books and began an eternal journey in the company of such exhilarating comrades...
To begin with, it was a bright, sunny morning. I had reached the school at my usual hour adoring the rejuvenating melodious chirpings. A usual day filled with the same good, old lessons, an everyday routine. The next session after the lunch break was that of the library. Our school was blessed with a colossal library accommodating books of all genres and varied languages. However, there was a rule that every year specific bookshelves were assigned to a particular grade! So unfair right? But it was done to maintain uniformity, they said. Sullenly, we all got into a single line and awaiting to be assigned our allotted bookshelves but who dreamt that the librarian would knock us down with a feather...We all were blown away by the announcement that said
“According to the new school rules given by the headmistress the students in and above 8th grade will be allowed to choose any books according to their free will from anywhere in the library.”
We all were dumbstruck for a minute and then the air was filled with cheers and jubilation from all of us students. As we all began our search for the right one, my eyes fell upon a book by Carolyn Keene named Nancy’s Mysterious Letters. Its summary intrigued me and that's how my journey through these delightful imaginary worlds began. It was a wonderful experience spending time with Nancy & her two best friends Bess and George who courageously find solutions to all mysteries and problems that arise.
Each book became a magical key, unlocking doors to fantastical realms where I wasn't just a reader but a companion on thrilling adventures. From the enchanting halls of Hogwarts to the shadowy streets of The Mortal Instruments, from the heart-stopping trials of the Hunger Games to the divine escapades with Percy Jackson and Greek gods – every page held stratagems and stories that fueled my imagination. Growing up, I walked alongside characters who became my mentors. Hermione Granger's brilliance, Katniss Everdeen's courage, Bella's selflessness, and Peeta Mellark's generosity each left an indelible mark, teaching me valuable life lessons. Every book introduced me to new worlds, and with each turn of the page, I embarked on a fresh journey, imbibing wisdom from these literary companions. The chilling mysteries crafted by Agatha Christie and Dan Brown sent shivers down my spine, while Feluda's quick-witted discussions sparked inspiration. Amish's eyes offered glimpses into mythological worlds, and the tangy chemistry between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy made me feel content.
In the world of books, every story and character was like a guiding light, helping me navigate life's twists and turns. Turning the pages didn't just reveal exciting plots; it unveiled the powerful influence these literary companions had on my personal journey. Each book was a wonderful trip through numerous mythical, mystical fantasy worlds & I hope I go on such adventures forever....!
