It was a tough day at work.
It always is
but for robots like us,
It’s normal now.
Today it felt burdening.
Family day celebration
made me miss mine badly.
Finally, our boss announced,
“Let’s call it a day".
Everyone rushed to meet their beloveds at home.
Picking up my pieces, I set off for my stay.
I had no one waiting,
as I lived away.

I walked in melancholy,
even city lights were no more delight.
Couples, and children, all looked in the symphony.
I was by myself for a company.

On the way, around a corner,
I found a pup shivering and crying
for shelter and someone to carry.
I bowed down to pull him closer,
he barked softly and snuggled in my arms.
And my heart melted at his charm.

I fell in love, at first sight.
Hurray!
I am not going home alone this time.
