Love is an intense, beautiful feeling that cannot be confined to a specific term, described to a particular definition or stuck to a given statement. Love is an ever-increasing positive radiation, a magical therapy and a divine feeling that has no strings attached to it. Love is the strongest, most soothing and the most relaxing emotion created by the supreme being. Love is like doing something that gives you a sense of peace.

Love is light in the darkness of plight,
Love is a happy jar, heal the wound and the scar,
Love is like drizzly rain, that washes away your pain,
Love is soft and sweet bun, without which life can never be fun, Love is shining tenderness for every inch of darkness,
Love is like a butterfly, as soft and gentle as a sigh,
Love makes your heart feel strange inside, it flutters like soft wings in flight, How precious is this love we share,
How precious, very sweet and rare.

Love is like honey to the bread of life, something that adds taste to life and makes it more delicious. Love is like a painting where colours disperse on the blank canvas and give us something beautiful. Love works like a warm blanket works on chilly nights and provides us comfort.

When love visits your heart for the first time, you feel the world around you has changed, and you suddenly start feeling joyous, and your heart begins to dance like a three-year-old kid.

Love is like when you gently put on your dangling jhumkas while fixing the bindi on your milky white forehead and arranging your long silky hair, meanwhile,  someone staring at you in the mirror from behind with a sweet smile.

Love is like listening to every gibberish with an extreme interest and never brushing aside, even knowing that they are just only irritating stuff.

Love is something that makes your heart feel lighter, like cotton balls floating in the sky. It is like sitting under the blue and sharing the chai.

Love is like somebody holding you in their arms like there’s no tomorrow, their smiles have been the antidote of your sorrow. There must have been someone else better for their chem, but they define ‘you’ as the best for them.

Scientifically, “Love is nothing more than a chemical reaction in the brain”. Love may be associated with the heart but it blooms in the brain.

The chemical formula of love is:

C8H11NO2 + C10H12N2O + C43H66N12O12S2, these are the Love Drugs i.e. Dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin, collectively known as “HAPPY HORMONES”. There is a science to the art of falling in love. Love is critical to the brain and body as oxygen.

Dopamine in love is especially relevant: when we are in love with someone, we experience pleasant and satisfying emotions. These emotions immediately stimulate a release of dopamine in the brain, so that the same emotion produces a sensation of pleasure.

Dopamine is basically a neurotransmitter also known as THE REWARD SYSTEM in the brain. When you’re around someone you love, you may notice, your pulse quickens, your breathing gets shallow or your cheeks warm up. This is because of the euphoric feeling and flooding of dopamine in multiple areas of the brain.

Now, comes the Serotonin, one of the most extensively researched feel-good neurotransmitters exhibiting the range of function in both the brain and the body. It is best known for regulating mood and feelings of happiness. It is given with the nickname, THE HAPPY CHEMICAL. Serotonin is the reason behind every time you feel a burst of joy, excitement or satisfaction. Its deficiency is associated with depression and anxiety.

It took no time for Oxytocin to acquire fancy names such as “THE BONDING HORMONE”, “THE CUDDLE HORMONE” and even “THE LOVE HORMONE”. It is the most potent hormone produced in the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland. Oxytocin has a positive impact on social behaviours related to relaxation and trust. It promotes bonding in both romantic and platonic relationships. It is associated with trust, empathy, sexual activity and relationship building.

Love has no territory, no borders, no quantifiable mass or energy output. It is an unbeatable source of energy. Love is inherently free, it cannot be bought, sold or traded. Love cannot be imprisoned nor it can be legislated. Love is not a substance, not a commodity, not even a marketable source. It's not negotiable. The more connected you are, the more you will be healthier, physically fit and emotionally intense.

Love has the power to change- to transform. Love is not only for marriage. In fact, Islam lays its entire foundation on love. Love is the epitome of all the sentiments, whose most notable characteristic is its ability to transform whatever it touches. Love is the best source to save mankind and to serve the humanity. The Holy Qur’an frequently speaks about love.

The Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) said: “If you love Allah, follow him and Allah will love you and forgive your sins”. Also, Allah says righteousness and faith result in love for another. Surely, “those who believe and do good deeds of righteousness – unto them, the merciful one shall assign love” (19:96). Islam shows love as a transforming power that is a vital way to perfect action and belief.

Loving does not require any qualification that you need reciprocation. God loves you despite every sin you’ve committed.

Currently, the world is not able to distinguish between lust and love. Lust is having an intense desire specifically for having a sexual urge. However, love is keeping someone even when they leave, keeping them in your prayers, just because you love them and that’s when love is at its purest form.

This is the true nature of love, and love itself cannot be manipulated or restrained. Love honours the sovereignty of each soul. Love has its law. Sometimes love becomes horrible and gives pain but after some time all wound smiles back at you once it is done giving the lessons.

Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) has mentioned that “By the one in whose hand is my soul, you’ll not enter the paradise until you submit to Allah and you’ll not submit until you love one another. Spread peace and you’ll love another. Beware of hatred, for it is a razor. I do not say that it shaves hair, but rather it shaves away the religion.”

Love is a road to resemblance- a resemblance of the finest human qualities and the greatest moral virtues. As the Prophet stated, “Everything has the foundation and the foundation of Islam is Love.”

So, let’s abandon hate and live in love. To hate is an easy lazy thing but to love requires strength and zeal which everyone has but not all have the will to practice.

Do love and tell others to do.
- Mother Teresa
