1. JATAYU EARTHS CENTER, KERALA

The giant sculpture of Jatayu the demigod in a bird form brings the age-old mythological story Ramayana to life. Jatayu a noble vulture fought bravely despite its old age against the mighty Ravana for saving Sita. Sadly the bird was defeated and his wings were clipped off by Ravana and his injured body is believed to have fallen on to the rocks where the statue is built. 2. AVALANCHE LAKE, TAMIL NADU

Avalanche lake has a unique energy to revitalize its visitors. The clear water flowing between magnificently set hills and plantations of Ooty in the Nilgris district of Tamil Nadu is perfect spot for boating and fishing enthusiasts. 3. PATHIRAMANAL ISLAND, KERALA

Pathiramanal meaning the “Sands of night” has many legends surrounding it. The most famous is the story of a famous Brahmin, Vilwamangalathu Swamiar, who during a boat ride wanted to answer the “call of nature” and for this he magically created the island at night. 4. ROOPKUND, UTHARAKHAND

Roopkund Lake, nestled deep in the great Himalayan mountains holds many secrets. Remnants of 300 to 600 people were found buried here. The origin of the skeletons found is largely unkown but various studies have discovered that these remains date back to 850 BCE. This national park stays afloat on the waters of the Loktak Lake in Manipur and is home to endangered species like Sangai Deers. 6. KAAS PLATEAU, MAHARASHTRA
