On a bright and clear starry night, Mr. Dixit was having a cup of coffee after dinner sitting on an easy chair in the balcony, enjoying the beautiful view of the sky by jiggling through one star to the other. He was in a heavenly peaceful state of mind when Mrs. Dixit shouted from inside the kitchen, "Hey! Mr. Dixit.... what on earth are you doing upstairs?". This first call was casually ignored by Mr. Dixit as if the sound wave could not survive amidst the strong thought wave rendering in his mind. This made Mrs. Dixit raise her voice more louder and shriller, "What the hell are you doing there?"
"Why? What happened?", this time he replied at once.
"Look, your son is not going to bed... He is surely going to miss his school tomorrow morning. Come and make him sleep...", These blaring words from Mrs. Dixit brought him directly from the cosmic world to the real one when he reminded that he is having a son who must be eagerly waiting to hear a bedtime story from him. So he stood up and went straight to his son Bittu.
Mr. Dixit was about to start some chitchats with him but Bittu was having a different mindset tonight. He at once replied, "I will not sleep tonight.... neither I will talk to you". Bittu is generally a very descent and obedient boy. He never behaves rudely with his parents. There has to be something wrong today, so he asked Bittu, "What happened son? Any problem with friends or in school?".
"No", Bittu denied readily.
"Did your teacher said anything to you then? any issues with study?".
"No", Bittu again answered the same.
"Okay! let me guess... you are not feeling well I think, let me check...", he then tried to take Bittu in his arms but he refused his hug saying,
"No no no... get away from me... I don't want to come to you".
This time Mr. Dixit lost his patience and raised his voice a bit on Bittu, "Why? What's wrong with you? Will you tell me why are you angry at me?". - "You are not good guys at all... both of mamma and you", Bittu shouted over Dixit's voice. Realising that there must be some sort of ignorance from their ends Mr. Dixit tried to console him, " Sorry beta... I apologise if we have done anything wrong to you, but will you please let me know what it is? I assure you that we will never do that again. Please... you are our good son na!".
"No.... this is very bad.... I don't want to talk about it. I wonder how could you guys get involved in this type of act. I feel really ashamed of you".
Bittu is just fourteen now but sometime he behaves like a mature one as if he has a clear idea of what is right and what is wrong. Mr. Dixit now understood that Bittu might have found some words or deeds between him and Mrs. Dixit very wrong that had hurt his ingenious mind.
"Okay boy! I understand we have surely done something wrong but if you don't tell me what it is, how could we stop doing this? Please let me know what and when did we do that".
"You guys do this every night after I fall asleep in the other room. I know everything.... this is insane.... you are not good guys at all", Bittu started weeping very hard.
Mr. Dixit now completely realised what Bittu was actually pointing to. This made him completely dumbstruck for a while. He was wondering, if he was guessing it right then how careless they had been that their son Bittu had discovered their sex life! He was feeling very ashamed and helpless. Also, he was surprised by the fact that Bittu had somehow come to know about the act of sex, but his knowledge was driven into the wrong direction. He had been made to believe that sex is a foul and heinous act which is done by the wrong people or bad guys only. So he was very much hurt to find his mamma and papa engaging themselves in the same act. But now what! What should he do now? Should he refuse the fact that whatever his son was talking, was complete nonsense? There was nothing like this between his mamma and papa... Or should he scold him that he was too young to talk about all this nonsense... Or should he avoid the situation and let Bittu get to know all about this gradually on his own?
But being a wise father, he thought differently. One thing that came to his mind was that dealing this matter in all these ways would keep his son in complete darkness and this will surely create some distance between them, which will hamper his mental growth as a teenager. So this was the right time to make him aware of the true fact... the complete truth! He must not possess any wrong idea about his mamma and papa. But, at first, to be doubly sure about how much Bittu knows, he asked him, "Okay son! Don't cry... Let me explain it... But first tell me, what and how did you come to know of what you are talking about?"
"All my friends know about what the bad boys and girls do secretly... I know it too.... Last night I have seen you guys doing the same in the other room... How could you!".
"Okay... Let me explain... Listen to me very carefully. Whatever you have come to know from your friends is not completely true. You and your friends have learnt about this in a wrong way. Let me make you understand what it actually is, then you will decide whether your parents have done anything wrong or not."
At this Bittu turned his head and asked, "You mean to say that you have not done anything wrong!".
"Look beta... Right or wrong depends on how you see things or how you are made to learn about things. Actually, the problem is that you are not being taught about this, so gather your knowledge from here and there which are mostly wrong. So I am going to teach you the right thing now", he continues after a pause, "Look, the word you must have heard to name this act, that starts with a 'F' is not appropriate and it is generally used as a slang. This act is actually called 'making love'.."
"Making love!!! Do we really need to 'Make' love?", Bittu asks.
See, love has very different kinds of nature, gesture and posture in different kinds of relationships.... like as...
Like the expression of love between you and me, you and your mamma, you and your friends are not same always. Your mamma hugs and kisses you most of the time but I do it very seldom. I just pat on your back to express my love towards you. You hug your friends but don't kiss them I suppose.
Nyaa... Never ...
Yes.... Like this When a grown-up boy and girl are in love, when they get married, they express their love this way by making love. There is nothing wrong in it when both of them are grown enough and are in mutual consent to do this. This is true for every married couple including your mamma-papa. But kids at your age should not talk or think about this. As you grow up, there will be hormonal changes in your body and gradually it will become a natural biological need for your body. Also, as you study the subject of biology in higher classes you will get to learn about that this is also the process for reproduction.
Reproduction means?
Means.... We, the married couple having babies like you...
So, you mean to say that you are going to have another baby after last night!
Oh... No no.... We have choices on that... It's not like that we are having babies all the time.
So Ranjan's parents, Priya's parents also do the same?
"All mummy-papas, who love each other, do the same... They love their kids too....", Mr. Dixit kisses his son in his forehead, "Now don't think about it too much... You have lot more interesting things to think about...."
One last thing.... Can you please stop making noise while doing this.... You make very weird sounds...
Oh! That I can manage... Now come and get to sleep, you have school tomorrow morning.
Okay... I love you papa...
I love you too beta... Good night and have sweet dreams.
