A SILENT Dark Night with a little forecast of rain and there are heavy clouds in the sky. A lady was going on the road on her bike. Suddenly, a Mercedes car came into the scene like lightning, from the wrong route at high speed and in rash mode. Even though she was on the correct side, she sidestepped to give way to the car. But the car intentionally came towards her and hit her. Then two men wearing masks came out and killed her brutally.

A Pleasant Morning, Tring…Tring..!! The person with the khaki dress (having a star and IPS tag on his shoulders) picked the call and said ‘Here we are from Visakhapatnam police station’. From the other side with a shivering voice ‘SIRRR..’. He said that as he was going to his office he found a dead body in the Outskirts of the city. The police said he would be there in a few minutes and told him not to worry. A young IPS officer didn’t expect this huge headache on his very first day. He just completed his training from SVPNPA (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy), Hyderabad.

He went to the crime spot with his subordinates. There he saw a lady lying down in a pool of blood. He searched keenly for primary evidence but his attempt was futile. He called out for the Forensic Team and completed the formalities. Police Officer got an Identity card after searching in every nook and cranny. Then he informed the victim’s family and took the basic details of her. But like a needle in a haystack, he is able to find CCTV even in the outskirts. He took the footage from the local traffic office and searched for clues. He saw whole scene of the killing of a lady from the people in the car. With the help of the Road Transport Authority (RTA), he got the details of the car. It was registered with the name Vicky. After further investigation, he also came to know that Lady Anjali had past contact with Vicky. The new police officer was on cloud nine and called his constable to go to Vicky’s home.

He got perplexed as he saw Vicky coming to a police station. After talking to Vicky, The officer straightly showed the footage to Vicky and he asked why you killed Anjali. He told the most boring answer that any officer doesn’t want to hear ‘Sir, why would I kill her?’ The officer had a feeble smile and said that you have good manipulative schemes it seems. Let’s believe your statement for the sake of argument, then why was your car there in the crime scene? Then Vicky said that it was why he came police station. He continued, “I came to file a complaint that I lost my car yesterday night”.

The officer realized that he had to start over from first. The Cop asked Vicky that how he knew Anjali in the traditional police style.

Then he replied,” I had a crush on Anjali at an early age. As I had an interest on her, I just proposed to her. But to my surprise she rejected me. I just tried to convince her but she completely refused it. After that, I didn’t meet her”.

The officer asked regarding the information of the car’s missing.

Vicky continues like this,” Yesterday I went to a party but there was not enough parking space I told my driver to park out and wait there itself. After the completion of the party, I came out. Then I saw my driver with wounds and he was completely unconscious. I booked a taxi and was admitted to the hospital. When he gets conscious he says that someone came, hit him, and stole the car.”

As part of their nature, they police those bills and they are perfect.

The time grew on but there was no progress in this case. The pressure from both Media and Higher Authorities was at its peak. The police don’t want his first case to be given to Senior. So he called his friend DETECTIVE PETER.

Detective understanding the situation, started the investigation from his very first minute of arrival. He went to the crime scene and he found a driving license of Vicky far from the main spot. He went to Vicky and asked Vicky to show his license. Vicky said that he know his rules and there is no need to submit his Identity card unless there is an order. The officer loses his temper but his friend stops him. But both of them thought he was about to get caught. Finally, the Detective asked Vicky to give explanation for this card. Without hesitation, he said that it was a fake one and he showed the original. The detective sent it to Road Transport Authority, even though all the details were matching the card was fake.

As all doors were closing, the Detective wanted to chop from the other side. Pressure on new officers increasing gradually. He started searching for a car. He took the Checkpost Surveillance camera footage of the way the car. He checked them. The car went through in Checkpost 1 and Checkpost 2 but missed in checkpost 3. The detective came to know that there were no houses between these two checkposts except a few dhabas. With the detective, the investigation officer went to search of a car in dhabas (small restaurants on the side of Highways). In one of the dhabas they actually saw the car. So they waited until someone came near to the car. When one person came these two went and took him into custody. The detective started the interrogation in the third degree.

After the whole story, they realize Vicky is at the end of the string. Then they arrested Vicky and the man.

FINALLY, the young IPS and detective went to a press meet. A journalist asked what is the case all about. The police officer’s answer goes like this – In childhood days, Vicky had a crush on Anjali but Anjali was not interested in Vicky. From then both choose their own roads. A few days back, Vicky saw Anjali with his husband in some party and he wasn’t able to digest that someone else taking his spot. He planned to kill her. Anjali working in the Night Shift became an added advantage for Vicky. Vicky took his driver and went to some party. After going there Vicky went in and came back in disguise and hit the driver on his head. Vicky and his friend went to kill her and did so. Vicky told his friend to drop him at a party and keep the car in some dhaba until the issue settled down. As per plan, Vicky was dropped at the party.

After coming he booked a taxi and went to the hospital taking the driver. That’s the reason why the bills all matched. Actually, Vicky foresaw everything coming, so in order to divert all, he made a fake Driving License and was thrown in the crime spot. Everything was planned perfectly up to the mark.

Another journalist shoots another question pointing to the Detective ‘Sir the young IPS is new to this field, but you have bagged the credit of clearing many complicated cases. But why do you take so much time and effort for this case?’.

The detective takes a sip of water and continues... That is the very mistake I had committed in this case, I too thought it was not at all complicated. We also came to know that Vicky is a gold medalist in Criminal Psychology and also has a degree in Forensic Sciences. So he is pro in the manipulation of evidence and a master in creating fake evidence. The very fake evidence of driving License made this so critical. The Young IPS officer felt so happy as he witnessed and understood how to deal with such complicated cases.

The Press meets and my story ends with the same word “THANK YOU."
