Alright, folks, let me paint you a picture,
Of a night so spooky, it'll give you a shiver.

Closing my eyes, ready for a peaceful sleep,
But then, out of nowhere, my rest did creep.

Suddenly, a weight in my chest,
A burden unseen,
Tears trace my cheeks, in the night’s dark sheen.

My heartbeat quickens, out of rhyme,
The once gentle stream turns to a haunting chime.

Around my bed shadows creep,
One atop my chest, I cannot sleep.

I struggle to breathe, in her grasp so tight,
Creepy creatures laugh, in the dead of night.

Paralyzed and scared, I try to flee,
But my body’s still, no help for me.

In silent screams, I beg for release,
But my voice is mute, no comfort no peace.

Each moment feels like an eternity,
In this parallel world of uncertainty.

Desperate for dawn, to break the spell,
But I am stuck in this nightmare, a living hell.

Several minutes passed,
And I give myself a big shake to snap out of it,
Feeling relieved when I'm back where I fit,

With the soft stream's sound, I feel at ease,
I roll over to sleep, trying to appease.

Scared, I hide under the blanket,
But suddenly, I can't breathe again,
Frozen in place, in a realm so dark,
Caught once more in sleep's eerie arc.

So, just a heads up when you hit the hay,
Sleep paralysis might come into play.
