In childhood's realm, where innocence thrives,
we reveled in games that shaped our lives…
Hours spent in laughter, carefree and light,
as we chased the day into the night…
Candies shared in secret whispers sweet,
beneath the sun's warm and golden heat.
Faking sleep, with mother's embrace,
ensuring we'd make it to evening's race…
Mango shakes and watermelon, ripe and sweet,
a taste of summer, memories complete…
Shopping sprees for clothes brand new,
excitement buzzing, felt like a dream to pursue…
Cooler's cool wind, a gentle breeze,
underneath its hum, we found ease…
Birthday parties, a time of cheer,
nostalgic platters, now a memory dear…
Excited for the new grade, waiting to enter the school gate,
with tide-like washed new uniforms, a fresh slate…
New bags, new lunch boxes, water bottles in hand,
fresh books with fancy stickers, our names brand…
Holiday homeworks on summer's bright stage,
paper tearing, pasting, charts, with joyous rage…
parents lending hands, guiding us through,
turning homework into adventures anew…
After vacations, back with a fresh look…
making timetables in the grey rough notebook,
Eagerly wanting to show charts which were in the side pockets of school bags,
excited chatter, as we wait for names to tag…
Eyes curiously looking at new peers in the class,
wishing for old friends, hoping they’d amass…
But now, in adulthood's steady stride,
those cherished memories begin to hide…
Tasks once shared, now done alone,
as we navigate this world on our own…
Yet amidst the rush and hustle's call,
we find solace in memories that enthrall…
In the quiet moments, nostalgia blooms,
hoping for childhood's innocence to gently resume…
For though the games may fade away,
and memories linger, come what may,
The essence of youth forever stays,
in the heart's recesses, where it forever plays…
