A home is meant to be a heaven, but when an abused child is unable to feel safe, that home becomes a living nightmare. Where can a child find safety, other than in their home?
A disturbing occurrence has unfolded in the Satara district of Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), leaving many people shocked. Everyone has difficulty comprehending how a father can perform this heinous act of sexual abuse on a child (5 years old) at the beginning of their journey to comprehend what a relationship is and what is beautiful about life.
Although the perpetrator of this abhorrent act is the child's biological father, it is sickening to think that fathers could hurt children in this fashion after having made a vow to protect their children.
The truth of this horrific incident was revealed during a moment in which no child should ever have had to experience horror (the child's fifth birthday). After noticing that her son appeared fearful and traumatised, his mother asked him questions to ascertain the cause of his discomfort. It was then that the child disclosed that his father had sexually abused him by digitally penetrating him multiple times.
After speaking with her husband calmly and rationally, the child’s mother understood how serious the allegations against her husband were - she immediately contacted the police and filed a report with them. After receiving the report, the police began an investigation into the allegations and registered a case against the father under the applicable parts of the POCSO Act.
To many, it is hard to believe that a father could behave in this way. A father is supposed to protect his child from harm; however, by committing such a heinous act, he has destroyed any trust his child had in him. The father’s true self was revealed at what was meant to be a celebration for all involved. As this was the child’s birthday, preparations for his special day were being made until the child bravely disclosed his father. When a parent learns of something like this during the happiest time of their child’s life, there are very few words to describe what occurred. A lot of anger is being directed toward the father now that more people are aware of this, and as this story is shared via social networking sites, the anger continues to grow.
As horrible as it is, anyone could commit an act against a child; an act committed by the child’s biological father is even more unbelievable than if a stranger committed the crime.
To be sexually, physically, and emotionally abused by one’s father at such an impressionable age would be nearly impossible to comprehend or explain to another child. Most fathers will never use that type of violence toward their children; therefore, they will not recognize that their son looks at them in a way that is completely different than the way they look at their son, who is a victim of his violence, and for that reason, the man who becomes violent in front of your child has forfeited his title of Father, as well as the horrible abuse he has caused, is deserving of the most severe punishment.
The abuser manipulates the victim through threats of physical harm and threats of emotional harm, using fear tactics to maintain control over the child so the child will remain silent about the abuse. He comforts the child that if he tells anybody, the abuser will kill his mother or something to that effect. Because most children are unaware of what the abuser is doing, the abuser can convince the child that what is happening is in some way his fault—that the abuser has not done anything wrong—but the reality is that the child is being subjected to sexual abuse because of the abuser’s desire to have power over the child through manipulation of the child’s innocence.
The child never thought that a parent, once considered a source of love and guidance, would become a source of disgrace and shame to the child. The child will spend time trying to figure out how a parent could be incapable of having compassion for their child, when he doesn't even realise that he is his child.
The hurt from being sexually abused as a child is long-lasting; it doesn't just end with the arrest of the abuser. A child who has been abused at a young age will suffer mental trauma and have an overwhelming amount of fear and anger that makes it difficult for them to have a good future as an adult.
There are also going to be difficulties for the child's mother, and it will have a devastating effect on her. She will have to cope with the emotional abuse that she will have to deal with due to her husband's horrible actions, as well as dealing with the public's negative attitude toward the victims. She is going to be the only one providing her scared son with emotional support. In the past, most of the attention was on girls who were sexually abused, but now a parent who has had a child grow up will no longer be able to protect their child from being sexually abused. A five-year-old boy will never be able to believe that his father could do something like that until he is nearly ready to comprehend the world. When he begins to understand the world around him and begins to understand that he views his father as the centre of the universe, then he will have doubts about society's view of humanity. Will there ever be a day when children who are sexually abused will not be subject to this continued form of sexual abuse? It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the most serious punishment is given to sexual predators. Teaching children the difference between good touch and bad touch is crucial, regardless of gender.
When fathers act this way, there's a growing concern in homes for all children.
