The eyes that shed tears
when I am in pain
The tears that twinkle
when I am happy
The eyes that showed
the right path
The eyes that opened wide in anger
to correct me
That’s the heavenly eyes
Of a mother……
The ears that heard me
whenever needed you
Her ears are always open
to hear me
A muffled, hushed, grinding sound
is still heard by her
But her loud sound of scolding and warning
has always corrected me
That’s the sound of music
Of a mother…..
The nose that sniffs me
whenever I am in problem
She spreads the smell
of fragrance
She tickles my nose
with her aromatic cuisine
She is an oxygen
to my regular life
That’s the scent she spreads
Of a mother…..
The tongue that spoke
the first word ‘Mama’
The tongue that suckled
the first drop of milk
The tongue that relished
the taste buds
The tongue that didn’t mind
the language at times
That’s the flavour
Of a mother……
The life that she gave me
in the womb
The unconditional love
that she showered on me
The care that she took
more than her life
The understanding equation
that she always has for me
That’s the abundant feeling
Of a mother……
Oh! Mother you are a unique creation
Whether you are a mankind, animal or bird
We exist in you
Your existence is my existence
Without you Oh! Mother
There is no life that exist
The purest relation
Just like the mirror
A transparent heart
Of a mother……
