Pallavi Batra, who works as a team leader at the Royal Bank of England’s Gurugram branch, is having a great life. One day, she attends her friend’s birthday party where she meets Sumit. Nakul introduces them, and this is how they start talking, which gradually turns into love.
Pallavi really likes being with Sumit because she didn’t receive the love and attention in her childhood, which made her feel lonely. But now, she doesn’t feel that way anymore.
It’s been a year since Pallavi Batra and Sumit started their relationship, and Pallavi has begun dreaming of marriage. She covers all her boyfriend’s expenses, goes on international trips with him, and has exhausted all her savings. She has even taken a loan of 20 lakhs from her bank, which is being deducted from her salary as EMI payments.
At the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dubai, Pallavi and Sumit are getting sexually intimate in their hotel room, and Sumit's phone keeps receiving WhatsApp video calls from "Papa". After a little while, Sumit stops to put his phone on silent mode and then resumes making love to Pallavi.
While Pallavi and Sumit are having breakfast together, Pallavi proposes marriage to Sumit. Hearing this, Sumit becomes quite anxious and starts refusing, saying that they belong to a caste that doesn’t allow marriage outside their community. However, Pallavi persists, which forces Sumit to reveal the truth: he is already married and has a child, so he cannot leave his family. He tells Pallavi that if she wants, they can end their relationship. Hearing this, Pallavi becomes very tense.
Pallavi has been sitting at home for many days, monitoring Sumit’s activities because he no longer talks to her. She has become obsessed with Sumit’s love to the point of madness. Due to this, she has started visiting her office psychiatrist to discuss this problem, and her work at the office is also getting affected.
Pallavi has started visiting the psychiatrist frequently. Since the psychiatrist initially refused to see her, she began paying for the sessions. She spends hours alone at home, not talking to anyone, and constantly messaging and calling Sumit day and night.
Finally, Pallavi convinces Sumit to meet her. When they meet, she agrees to all of Sumit’s conditions because she doesn’t want him to leave her life. Now, wherever Pallavi goes, she needs Sumit’s permission. Sumit has complete control over Pallavi.
If Pallavi goes clubbing with her friends, she has to constantly send video updates to Sumit. Because of this, her friends have started distancing themselves from her. As a result, Pallavi is now making new friends. Everyone has tried to explain to her that she has no future with Sumit and that she should move on, but Pallavi is haunted by the loneliness she has felt since childhood.
Whenever Sumit feels like it, he stops talking to Pallavi, leaving her unaware of when she slipped into depression. Now, whenever she meets new friends or her psychiatrist, they all advise her to move on. Pallavi’s mind is constantly occupied with two thoughts: she can’t leave Sumit, and she needs to move on.
It has been six months since Sumit last spoke to Pallavi, and the stress of this situation is eating her up to the point where her body is wasting away. Her family tries hard to talk to her, but she doesn’t share anything with them and keeps her sorrow bottled up inside.
While Pallavi is sitting in her cabin working, her boss calls her to the office and informs her that she is being let go from her job. This news puts Pallavi under a lot of stress as she worries about how she will pay her loan EMIs. She pleads with her boss not to fire her, but the order has come from the head office, so she is dismissed. Additionally, six months of her salary is deducted to cover her loan amount.
Now, Pallavi spends all day and night just following Sumit, trying to find a way to talk to him, but all her efforts fail. As a result, she has started experiencing panic attacks due to her depression, causing her face to stiffen completely. Seeing this, her family is suffering internally, but Pallavi doesn’t care about anyone. She wants to remain as she is, no matter what.
