Radhika was just 19 when she was married to a guy who was 10 years older to her. She was a lively girl who had a great love for music but due to her early marriage, she was unable to pursue her passion and fulfill her dreams. When she got married, her life revolved around her husband and other household work. Her husband used to care but never loved her. Even if she dressed up beautifully, he never noticed or complimented her, he never appreciated the food she cooked. There was no chemistry between them. When she wanted to express herself and talk with him he used to set her aside by saying I am busy, poor Radhika used to just keep silent and go away. One day while giving out clothes for drying she heard a sweet violin playing and she started singing along when suddenly she noticed a guy in his mid-30s standing on the terrace of her adjoining building. He had the violin and was playing it beautifully. Their eyes met and he gave her a cute smile. Radhika was embarrassed and rushed down the stairs to her room.

The next day when she went to give out the clothes she again noticed that guy and he waved at her and said ‘Hi you sing beautifully would you like to join my music class?’ Radika never said anything to him and after finishing giving out her clothes returned to her room. She started blushing with the thought that she would be able to pursue her dreams of singing. That night when her husband returned back from his office. Radhika softly asked him about joining the music class in the opposite building, her husband in his half-sleeping mode said “yes' ' and dozed off to sleep. Radhika was too excited and the next day when she saw the guy on the terrace she shyly said she would like to join the music class. “Could you please tell me what time and what the fee is?” He told her that she could come any time suitable for her, he has no problem. So sharp at 5 p.m. Radhika got ready and went to the next building. She knocked at the door, Sumit the young gentleman opened the door and welcomed Radhika inside his house. It was a cozy and well-kept room with all the musical instruments like guitar, voilin, sitar, harmonium, tabla etc. He said that for him music was God and he worshiped music. Radhika asked if she could become his student and learn from him. He happily agreed and from that day onward every day sharp at 5:00 p.m. Radhika used to go to Sumit's House to take music classes. Radhika found a great friend in Sumit. He used to listen to her make her understand, correct her mistakes and make her feel happy which her husband has never done in her entire married life. Radhika used to wait to meet Sumit and attend his music classes everyday. She started dressing up and started taking good care of herself, and wore favorite sarees for the classes. Sumit took notice of her and complimented her each day and even encouraged her to fulfill her dreams and think for herself. Radhika's life was changing colors from dull and monotonous life there was something to look forward to. There was excitement, there was joy and happiness back in her life. One day while learning music from Sumit there was a power cut in Sumit’s house as Sumit went to get the candle Radhika got up in the darkness slipped and fell down. On hearing the sound Sumit came rushing and saw Radhika on the floor, held her gently and picked her up. As he held her hand there was a shiver down Radhika's spine, never had her husband touch felt so but she controlled her emotions. The power came back after some time and they went back to the music class but that night when Radhika went to sleep she kept thinking of Sumit and blushing and smiling. It was a different feeling - maybe she was falling in Love with him but her joy was not so long-lasting - suddenly when she turned she noticed her husband sleeping on the other side of the bed, she realized she was married and it was not correct for her to think about another gentleman. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep but whenever she closed her eyes, she could only see Sumit’s face.

Next week was her husband’s birthday. Radika organized a party for him, she had decided to take her mind off Sumit and just focus on her husband and be his loyal wife. She stopped going to her music classes. Sumit got worried. He too had developed a soft corner for Radika.

Radika got busy organizing the party, ordered the cake, decorated the house and invited the guests.

She wanted to surprise her husband and sing for him on his birthday as well. She decided to invite Sumit as well. So she went to his house. When she knocked on the door, Sumit was having his bath, when he heard the doorbell, rushed to open the door from his bathroom. He was shirtless with just his towel around his waist. His masculine body made Radika attracted toward him but she controlled herself. Sumit hurriedly wore his T-shirt and made Radika have a seat. Radika said that she will not be able to continue with the music classes due to her family commitments. Sumit tried to pursue her by saying she was an excellent singer and should not leave her class mid - way. But Radika had made up her mind. Before leaving she invited Sumit for her husband’s birthday party which was the following day.

The day arrived and guests started pouring in. When Radika’s husband came back from his office he was quite surprised to find his house full of guests. Radika attended to all the guests but her eyes were searching and waiting for Sumit. As the cake was about to be cut, the doorbell rang and Radika rushed to open it. It was Sumit in his white crispy Kurta Pyjama, clean shave looking so dashing. Radika's heart skipped a beat looking at him. Throughout the party her eyes kept following Sumit wherever he went. Sumit too kept staring at her, she was looking beautiful in her black and golden color saree with matching bangles and earrings. This was quite noticeable by her husband. Radika then took the center stage and held the mike and sang a beautiful song dedicating it to her husband. She was applauded by everyone but the loudest person clapping for her was Sumit. Radika gave all the credit to Sumit for teaching to sing so beautifully.

Radika’s husband got suspicious and after the party was over and everyone had left, he took Radika aside and asked her what was going on between Sumit and her. Radika denied and said he was just her music teacher. But her husband made up his mind and took a transfer order to another city. It was so sudden that Radika had no chance to inform Sumit.

In the new city, Radika’s life went on as usual, her husband used to be busy with his work, she tried forgetting Sumit and starting afresh. But Sumit's thoughts and memories were always there with her and she at times used to miss him and his music classes.

One night her husband got a severe heart attack. Raika had to rush him to the hospital. Where he was declared dead. She was devastated, but life had to go on.

After Radika had left the city, Sumit too moved to another city where there was greater scope for music and had changed his number. So when Radika tried to contact him she could not get through him.

In order to earn her living Radika started teaching music to children. One day her neighbor heard her singing while she was teaching the kids and asked her to sing for a concert which his company was organizing. Radika was hesitant at the beginning but then she agreed. She started rehearsing for the concert. The day of the concert finally arrived and it was Radika’s turn to sing. Radika took the center stage and as she began to sing she saw a familiar face sitting in the audience right in the first row. It was Sumit.

After her performance when she went backstage she saw Sumit was there standing. He congratulated her on her wonderful performance and asked her how she was doing and when she had left so suddenly without informing him. At that very moment crowd gathered to take pictures and autographs from Radika, Sumit got lost in the crowd. The car arrived and as Radika was about to enter the car, she noticed Sumit running down the staircase. She asked the driver to stop and she got out of the car and met Sumit. It was then when she told Sumit everything which had happened and how her husband got suspicious of their relationship and took a transfer order and shifted to another city,it happened so suddenly that she was unable to inform him. She told him about her husband’s death. She said she tried contacting him but she could not get in touch with him. Sumit then told her, his part of the story, how he too left the city once she had left and changed his number.

It was that moonlit night on the staircase of the concert hall - that they both confessed their love toward each other. Radika had tears rolling down her eyes, Sumit wiped her tears and took her in his arms and told her not to worry - he shall always be with her and never leave her ever. From that day till now they have been together in their cozy little home, Radika has become a great singer and Sumit has opened a music academy where he teaches music.

This was a simple love story and how music binds people together. True love finds a way and makes life beautiful.
