ABSTRACT

I share the view on food as does MK Gandhi in this quote, “There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” In this fast-paced world, the food we eat matters because it has a lasting impact on our health. Even though quick meals, fast food are convenient, they should be healthier. Coming from a place where food security remains a mirage, I strongly believe that food revitalization and food fortification can increase access to healthy food for the masses. It is clear that science and technology have great potential to benefit food systems and shape a healthy human civilization. food science is important because it needs to be safe for consumers. The food suppliers have the responsibility to make sure that the food law requirements are adequate and can be traced to evaluate the quality of food throughout the entire process of production, processing, and distribution. Food safety constitutes proper preparation, storage and preservation of all foods. Governments are increasingly calling for improvement in the quality and safety standards of food crops. With a passion for the natural world and a penchant for technology, I felt that the fusion of food science and law was a perfect choice. I intend to examine the ways in which different laws in different times have been developed.

INTRODUCTION

It is indeed the responsibility of food suppliers to ensure that all food law requirements are adequate and can be traced to evaluate the quality of food throughout the entire process of production, processing, and distribution. Food Safety is the Hot Topic This is crucial for ensuring the safety, quality, and integrity of the food supply chain, and ultimately safeguarding public health. Food scientists use a variety of tools and techniques to analyse and manipulate food at the molecular and macroscopic levels, with the aim of improving food quality, safety, and health outcomes. Food has been the preoccupation of humans since the dawn of evolution. Health is more important than wealth. It is only a sick person who can realize the significance of this comparison. In our youth, we often take our good health for granted and fail to grasp the reality of frailty and illness. Our organs operate seamlessly, and we may not even notice the presence of our lungs, heart, stomach, and back. However, when one of these vital components fails, the impact is painfully apparent. The loss of health can leave us feeling miserable and helpless, and it can impede our ability to achieve our goals and function independently. In these moments, we realize just how precious good health truly is. Inevitably, the development of stable societies and organized agriculture required the establishment of rules to govern common behaviour and shared expectations regarding the available food supply.

SCOPE OF FOOD SCIENCE AND LAW

The scope of food science and law is extensive and essential for ensuring the safety, quality, and integrity of the food supply chain. Both fields play a crucial role in safeguarding public health, supporting innovation, and regulating the food industry. As food science experts, our aim is to continuously improve the safety and quality of food products. We achieve this by conducting extensive research on various aspects such as food composition, preservation techniques, packaging, and sensory attributes. Through our efforts, we strive to enhance the overall food experience and contribute to a healthier and more sustainable society.They develop methods for preventing contamination and spoilage, as well as for extending shelf life. Food science plays a significant role in developing new food products, ingredients, and processes. Researchers strive to create healthier, tastier, and more sustainable food options. Both food science and food law are dynamic fields, continually evolving to address emerging challenges, technological advancements, and changes in consumer preferences. The scope of these disciplines will continue to expand as societies increasingly focus on food safety, sustainability, and the development of innovative food products. The synergy between food science and law is crucial to ensure that the food industry remains safe, responsive to consumer needs, and compliant with ever-evolving regulatory requirements. we must be moderate in eating and drinking and wise in the choice of plain, wholesome, simple food. We should avoid fatty foods as they make us fat and prone to all sorts of illness. Our work normally does not involve hard physical labour. So we must get regular exercise. Exercise keeps our muscles strong and supple. The most common forms of exercise are jogging, swimming, playing etc.
