Through the masks of nonchalance, I plead through the eyes for the truth to be told
Enamored through the lies of forever, I hold stories that beckon to be untold
Belonging is a yearning that makes the dead return from the grave
Only to find himself dancing with the ones who, from the mortal plea of pretence, couldn't' save

There is a desire to become what glistens in our eyes
A fleeting dream that stumbles on its silent footsteps as it tiptoes in its lies.
Scrambling through the pages of my summoned fate
I often embrace the metamorphosis when it becomes too late

I have been strong for too long; now I yearn to rest
To forfeit any control, to take in one step at a time in life's mortal test
I remove my mask, placing it on my dressing table, it beckons to be shattered to its core
For all I did, I tried too hard to be liked, even when love was not its true core

I am wearied of standing tall when I want to fall, of holding on when I should leave
I held onto the game of pretence even when the ones I did it for wanted to deceive
I am not for everyone, and this is okay
I will radiate every depth of my truth, and the ones who are meant to stay will eventually stay

Let 2026 be the year you stopped begging to belong to those who never cared about your scars
May you find your tribe, the one that kisses your flaws as the light of the stars
I hope you find love, the one that never leaves you astrayed
May you truly belong to those whose truth never betrays
