A lover who kisses the scars
An embrace that snuggles the essence of the stars
A sight to behold, a glance that seeps into the crevices of the skin
A lover's touch that lingers a little longer than the onset of the dawn akin.
Maybe amour is not meant for me,
For I find myself staring at the bareness of the morning glee.
Loneliness is a drug, one that engulfs the psyche in its entirety
The emptiness turns into a companion that intoxicates thee
I am weary of false promises, ones that breathe in the temporary stance
Ones that in the shallow waters of the surface dance
The love that I yearn for encircles in the vows of eternity's truth.
Beyond the cliffs of moor and across the sands of Dee, it beckons its roots.
If love wants to kiss me goodbye after a one-night stand,
I wish to be left astrayed on my lonely land
Only if your promises are true and your heart is pure, come find me
Where forever is an unconditional endeavour, seek me in the depths of my poetry.
