Dear Joanne Rowling:
In a world where humans can fly and spells can reprimand the sly.
The dream of every potterhead is built on the sands of time,
The multiverse of J.K. Rowling that we lived in
Breathed life into every dreamer on the hard climb.
To the land where the mighty resided, encapsulated by the power of the realm,
Where the witches and wizards dwelled on tales of the conceit of the helm,
Lest the nights where the lost souls were leashed in the hellfire,
Hogwarts: The home that we yearned to return, the abode we all desired
Enchanted by the broom, ensnared by the golden snitch of eternity,
The game of Quidditch ruled the hearts of its admirers.
The counterfeited prophecy that ceased the doomed hostility
A longing to belong to the unknown,
Trudging my way between life and death,
The stellar shutdown of immortality that beheld my breath.
Plunged by the world into the sorrow of the mortal place,
In the houses of Hogwarts, we found solace.
Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, who enclosed the beauty of it intact,
Divided amongst our favourite houses, unified by the sorting hat.
To JK Rowling,
We live in the bliss of gratitude for bestowing us with an immortal present,
The creative existence of Harry Porter's world is so complex yet so eloquent.
And when I wish to hide,
When it feels hollow inside.
In a place known,
Where I trod my way back through the screen or page,
Hogwarts will always be my home.
~Always till the end of time~
