The dance of the luminescence of life often finds itself at crossroads,
Of knowing too much and being unable to share the load.
Hailing in pride, one enamours to be the lighthouse of their storms,
Not needing anyone, they choose to be anchor of their waters, defying the norm
I preach what I profess, through the raging tides of uncertainty, I hold my head high.
Wiping my tears before they roll down my chin, I hold the disguise with an exasperated sigh.
You cannot catch me falling apart, for I hold everything together too perfectly with a smile.
You cannot catch me relying on someone else, because I walked alone for an eternity’s mile.
The slaughter of humanity begins in the isolation of who one thinks she beckons to be
Joy in its mirth loses its existence in the act of pleasing others and dies at the hands of thee.
A war that never ends, where one bleeds in the visions of being a thing of beauty to the known,
Oblivious, they fight a battle where the void of how life feels inside leaves them forlorn.
I am wearied, to be in the service of others when my mind, in the echoes of despair screams,
No longer wishing to be called resilient, I want to embrace the truest hue of joy that gleams.
Hailing in pride, I beckon to be the lighthouse of my own storms
But from time and again, I wave the flag of needing someone, enclasping the norm
Maybe life is not about how perfectly you hold it all together alone,
It belies to be in grace to ask for help, when humaness leaves you forlorn.
I hope you know that it is okay to make mistakes and lose yourself for a while
Believe in your ability to bounce back from anything and handle the messiness with a smile.
A smile that heals,
A smile that turns up the zeal
A smile that makes the world around you beautiful in its sight
A smile that spreads the radiance of your light.
You are beautiful!
