We talked to the dimwit's end,
We laughed, We cried,
We danced and we promised each other to never say goodbye.

I knew you in your deepest scars,
And your dreams to touch the stars.

You knew how much I loved you,
And how many dreams of mine I wanted to come true.

I wanted to be the Naina to your Aditi as we laughed together,
To cry when I see your bridal endeavours.

I gave you my heart,
Only to be scarred by the silence that devoured our friendship apart.

We envisioned being in each other's existence for a lifetime,
But alas, our presence in each other's lives was only meant for a certain timeline.

You created a void that no love in the world could fill,
But I now look at the break-up as god's will.

For my soul cried more than it could smile
Maybe it was time for us to walk a new mile.

To the one girl, I no longer call a friend
I hope happiness and joy meet you with no end.

Though we don't talk doesn't mean I turned into a foe,
I still wish for your joy, but what's happening in your life, I no longer want to know.

For now, I live a life that holds me first, I write my own story and own my fable.
Falling in love with every ounce of myself in a deep realisation of who no longer deserves a seat at my table.
