No longer do I break from words unkind,
Nor lose hope when hearts are blind.
No longer do I weep from harsh disdain,
Nor bow down from others’ gain.
No longer do I halt at someone’s plea,
Nor forget betrayal’s decree.
No longer do I melt from every speech,
Nor change when others breach.
No longer do I dance to others’ tune,
Nor wait for deeds to bloom.
No longer do I fear from threats around,
Nor stay silent when injustice is found.
Now I rise, in my own rhythm’s grace,
Finding joy in my own pace.
Now I laugh, despite the pain,
Standing tall through disdain.
Now I stride with my chest held high,
Moving forward, reaching the sky.
Now I learn in life’s way,
Growing stronger every day.
Now I carve my path with might,
Unchanged by words, in my light.
Now I trust myself, living free,
Unfazed by the world’s decree.
Now I face all wrongs with pride,
In my rhythm, I will abide.
Yes, now I am, no longer the same,
In my rhythm, I claim my name.
