You screamed our soul to the world,
And I heard the whispers of it
On strangers' tongues.
Not like I was surprised,
But oh, how it stung—
The sharpness of knowing US
Had crumbled into YOU & ME.
But when did the "WE"splinter?
Was it when your truths
Were painted over,
In shades of manipulations?
Or when my love became
Just another tale to share,
Stripped of its sanctity?
I turned a blind eye to everything,
Believed in you,
Entrusted you with my soul and heart,
Only to be destroyed by your deceit.
The last thread now severed,
Embers of us now stand as ghosts,
Because your heart darkened.
I didn’t hate you—
Not until your soul turned black.
I forgave every wound
That you carved into me,
Blinded by love.
And women in love are fools—
I was no exception.
But then I met a guardian angel,
Who served truth cold on my plate,
Shaking me awake.
I saw the stygian shadows of you,
A heart so vile,
Even the god of deceit would reject it.
I loved the wrong,
The ache was mine to bear;
But now I see—it was never us!
It was always—YOU.
