The rule of ethical conduct as paraphrased from the sermon on the mount "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" gives a reflection on the necessity to uphold principles that suggest to be inherently right. Human values are indeed the virtues that guide us to take into account the human element when we interact with other human beings. They may include respect, empathy, love, gratitude, care etcetera.

The education of Sri Sathya Sai indicts Truth, Right conduct, Peace, Love, and Nonviolence as the basis of human values. In this present-day society where some laws are subjected to the quest and tenet of persons, groups or organizations. It is in the opinion of some cohort that no laws are inherently right as they are made by people to satisfy their desires whether perceived to be unscrupulous or not. However, it is undeniable that for human coexistence across the Cosmos through the sands of time to have been possible, a deep sense of morality and laws were required. In a simple illustration, theft, illegitimate murder and rape were despicable even in the era of the stone and punishments were prescribed accordingly. This was to enable people, tribes and races to coexist and have a common means of interrelationship.

Organizations in this present age cannot thrive or be of any significance if falsehood becomes paramount in their routine and dealings. It is in this regard that Truth as an arm of human value is required of. The truth as known to be sacrosanct proscribes fallacy and delusion hence imploring fidelity, transparency and integrity. In Arie de Geus' book, The Living Company, he posits Great vision, Great financial management and Great people as the key factors that all long-lasting companies share. Now assess this query; how can there be vision without transparency, how can there be financial management without fidelity and how can there be great people without integrity? This suggests that for an organization to enjoy longevity and progress, Truth is a vital tool to consider in its affairs. Little wonder did Rush Limbaugh consider Truth as its own power complimenting the wise words of Buddha, "Three things cannot be hidden; the sun, the moon and the truth".

Right conduct is living in a moral and ethical way in the absolute sense rather than by the standards of any particular time or society. Certain laws amended in this present time seem not to uphold or revere the standards of morality as they are not bound on any individual by law or dictates. For example, the gesture of extending greetings to a work colleague within an organization may not be compulsory vis-a-vis the organization policy, it however promotes intimacy among workmates. Theodore Roosevelt, a former American president known for his role in bringing to an end the bloody war between two of the world's great powers, Japan and Russia within the years of 1904 and 1905 was quoted to describe politeness as a sign of dignity and not subservience.

A simple "I am sorry" can go a long way in preventing injuries and alleviating hurt when there happens to be a misunderstanding among individuals in an organization which in reality is inevitable. The simple gesture of "thank you" could appease even the hardest of hearts and a make a person see reasons to acknowledge the beauty of gratitude and the warmth which comes with appreciation. All of these are illustrations of good conduct which may or may not necessarily be included in a law-abiding manual or constitution. However, they are of great relevance and importance in this day organizations.

Peace may be defined as a tranquil state of security and calmness that comes with the non-existence of fighting or war. Security is indeed unarguably a necessity in every organization of the present time, in aspects of life and property. People need to work in a safe and secure environment for them to be efficient and optimal in the dispensation of their duties. Peace is a concept of societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility. In a social sense, it is commonly used to mean a lack of conflict and freedom from fear of violence between individuals or groups. There can be no growth in an organization when there is no friendship amongst colleagues and counterparts, no development when there is hostility and no thrive when there is conflict. With support from the popular phrase "united we stand, divided we fall", it is eminent that the significance of teamwork and collaboration in modern society cannot be waved off. Peace-building, an enabler of development, security, reconciliation, and social and economic justice should therefore be fostered in organizations so as to achieve desired goals, accomplish mission, actualize visions and attain success heights at the summit.

A much deeper, broader, and fundamental aspect of human value is Love. For some, it is a feeling, passion, language or gesture. It is a desire yearned for by many. Love may be ascribed the meaning of a strong feeling of affection and concern towards another person, as that arising from kinship or close friendship. However, the human value of love can best be expressed as the all-pervading life energy. In simple words, this value has nothing to do with emotions, desires, passionate feelings, or relationships. It is selflessness, kindness, compassion, empathy and detachment from mutual expectations. The pertinence of love in present-day organizations cannot be over-emphasized as it has the aptitude to rule out jealousy, curb unhealthy competition among co-workers, and eliminate hate and disgust. Lastly, the aftermath of anarchy, despair or panic will negatively impact the growth and strength of any organization in this era. A non-violent community is a peaceful community where positivity and profitability are highly feasible.

Human values may be concluded to possess great relevance to organization of the present day as they have been shown to be of enormous contributions to the growth, development, and successes desired by any organization. Human values enshrine in the conscience of people the ability to detect what is right and wrong, especially in situations where there are no stipulated laws to ascertain verdict. This helps every person do just in his organization with clear consciousness and no regrets.
