Like an Ant stuck on a leaf mid-water,
I run around in circles,
Caught in the Ripples of Time.
The Sea of Doom seems endless.
Soon, I will drown.
I do not wish to give up,
but what choice am I left with?
Each time I try to leap onto the land
the waves take me farther away.
The rest of the world seems to be drowning too,
Each trapped on their own leaf.
They do not hear the screams of others.
How can they,
when their own screams are louder than the rest?
No one is aware of the misery I face
or maybe they pretend to be blind?
Because this is the doom that swallows each of us.
None safe from the Monster's grasp.
A few brave souls on the land
beg us to take the leap.
They try to tell us that the waves can be our ally too,
But we do not hear them.
The fear of reaching the end has turned us deaf.
Many have made peace with their fate.
They are now one with the leaves,
floating forever.
The last bit of hope has vanished.
I will soon be one among them.
Floating seems easier after all.
It is less scary than taking the leap.
I give up my life
to the Ripples of Time.
I will stay captured forever.
Why was I thrown into these waters
when I never asked to be?
Why was I given no choice?
Was I born just to drown in this misery?
I was once a naive child,
dreaming to soar through the skies.
I never liked the water,
it was always too cold for me.
But now I have been caught in it's ripples,
slowly drifting into the Unknown.
I feel the air
gently sucked out of my body,
replaced by the water
that does not seem to stop filling,
taking over what's left of my dreams.
My soul emptied by the currents.
Maybe in another life,
I will find peace.
I will be the bird I see high up,
soaring through the skies,
never to be Caught in the Ripples of Time.
