From mesmerizing landscapes to rich heritage, from unique culture to diverse history, India is a gorgeous amalgamation of traditions, languages, and people. India, the golden sparrow, always believed in “Unity in Diversity“spreads the message of peace and oneness, and takes pride in its traditions and unparalleled knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads.

When India was suffering from the tentacles of British slavery plagued by torture and clutched by poverty, our great leaders envisioned that a resurrected India would become the pioneer of the world as Vishwa Guru Bharat and become ATMANIRBHAR (self-reliant) in the future.

India is currently celebrating its seventy-five years of independence where Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is being observed. After 25 years from now, India will be celebrating its 100th anniversary of independence in 2047 which will be a landmark year to look at India through the prisms of development, growth, gender equality, employment, defense, sports, global brotherhood, and peace.

India’s Prime Minister Honourable Narendra Modi gave a public call amidst the Covid-19 pandemic for AtmaNirbhar Bharat and inspired the nation to make the 21st century India’s century through ‘self-reliance’.

When India speaks of being self-reliant, it doesn’t advocate a self-centered system but rather a concern for the world’s happiness, cooperation, health, and peace. Modi’s motto of “Sab ka saath, sab kaa vikas, sab ka prayaas” has been an eye opener.

I envision India as:

1. EDUCATED INDIA

Education is the most powerful weapon for change and not merely a tool for employment. I envision India where

  • Basic primary education becomes a mandatory birthright for every individual with its outreach to rural areas.
  • country with the highest literacy rate
  • an educational hub with many centers of excellence.
  • The various initiatives are taken by the government to promote education like “Each one, Teach one”, BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO, SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN, and tagline- PADHEGA INDIA TABHI TOH BADHEGA INDIA is surely taking India closer to its dream.

2. CLEAN, GREEN, and pollution free:

“A clean body cannot reside in an unclean city, Cleanliness is next to godliness”

“Clean and healthy people can make a wealthy country”, The concept of SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN was concretized when on 2 October 2014 a largest ever nationwide sanitation campaign, 'Clean India Mission was launched to provide basic sanitation to all. The mantra of “NA GANDAGI KARENGE, NA KARNE DENGE” (neither litter nor let others litter) evoked a message of massive change in the country’s outlook and citizens’  attitude.

  • The dream of a ‘Green Prosperous India’ requires the magic mantra of simple living and high thinking with a focus on “education for sustainability and not about sustainability”.
  • Environmental green initiatives like “Each one, plant one”, Namami Ganga, Swachh Vidyalaya, cleaning of rivers, etc whose proper timely implementation can make India one of the cleanest countries in the world.
  • From simple habits of planting trees, switching lights, conserving water, driving less, walking more, and using CNG buses can make India pollution free and a pioneer for climate change to stop global warming and protection of the environmental health, flora, and fauna.
  • Aim for being the world's most sustainable country with the highest Environmental Performance Index

3. EMPOWERED YOUTH-

  • India where youth are strong and fearless, kind, benevolent, strictly moral, and of high character.
  • where the empowered youth from diverse backgrounds like food to fashion to finance can be the forerunners of assessment, awareness, action, and advocacy for sustainable development and can address global issues and create a more just, equitable, and a peaceful world

4. HEALTHY INDIA:

  • A country where easily accessible and affordable medical facilities are available to the poorest of the poor.
  • Where citizens are aware of Yoga, Health & Fitness.
  • India as a manufacturing hub for innovative, affordable, and quality pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

FIT INDIA MOVEMENT by the government aims at keeping people healthy.

5. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT:

A new India where women are seen as its assets, not as liabilities.

Where women can enjoy equal rights with men and can deliver the same duties with no discrimination in the job based on gender

  • woman feels safer walking alone at the night
  • Women are self-sufficient in every field with adequate participation in the country’s decision-making, politics, army, etc

6. CORRUPTION-FREE INDIA:

  • an honest man will not have to pay bribes.
  • Speedy disposal of cases in courts and greater accountability in the judiciary.
  • A better governance, a transparent and accessible media that would unmask the corrupt.

7. STRONGEST DEFENCE POWER AND TECHNOLOGY

India is the world’s largest and strongest military power with an indigenous defense manufacturing hub along with export to the world.

A nation that is scientifically advanced, and technologically sound with all modern infrastructure like Rocket Science, Missile Technology, IT, Electoral Reforms, and Industrial Sector.

8. EMPLOYMENT:

  • employment opportunities for every deserving youth.
  • No child should be forced to beg or bonded labour.
  • A country with zero poverty, no unemployment, and zero agricultural indebtedness for farmers.
  • No gap between rich and poor.

No discrimination in terms of religion, caste, color, gender, race, social and economic status.

9. POWERFUL ECONOMY:

“Badayey jaa, badayey jaa, Kadam kadam badayey jaa”. torch bearer in our march towards economic prosperity.

  • self-sufficient in food and shelter and no one is dying of hunger, malnutrition, and poverty.
  • Lowest global hunger index

10. INDIA AS A SPIRITUAL TORCH BEARER-

  • India with its powerful weapon of spirituality and strong values of “ATITHI DEVO BHABA” and VASUDHAIBAKUTUMBAKKKAM (the world is a family) becomes the best friend of its neighborhood.

11. HAPPY AND PEACEFUL country:

A kind country that values international relationships and preaches Peace, trust, prosperity, and truthfulness throughout the world.

CONCLUSION

India will arise and awake once more. We need to join hands to re-script history with zeal, enthusiasm, and laser-like focus.

How we visualize India of 2047 will determine the revolutions we will adopt over the next twenty-five years. India was able to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, also developed a vaccine, and is extending help to other countries which shows the government’s commitment towards self-sufficiency.

The current ecosystem is the most favorable one in recent times in terms of skilled manpower, opportunities, and resources available. Proper direction with correct planning has immense potential to change the face of India and become a burning example for other economies in the world.

TO SUMMARISE-

India where
Poverty and Illiteracy are histories,
Education becomes the priority
Agriculture and Health work in symphony,
Women and Children live in harmony,
Wildlife, Heritage, and Technology unite with integrity
