As India is a very diverse Country, our Indian culture is also very diverse. The Bharatiya Sanskriti works on the principles of Dharma, Karma, daan (donation), Ahimsa and Tolerance. The concept of punarjanma and moksha is also noticeable. In our culture, Concepts of Karma and punarjanma are closely linked. Karma means the consequences of every action. It states that every action has serious consequences. And further, whatever we do, it will return to us, and sometimes it leads to punarjanma of the humans.
Understanding Bharatiya Sanskriti requires a lot of detailed study of it as it is the most widespread cultures of the world. The main concept of Bharatiya Sanskriti is Dharma, which is the righteousness of our life, moral duties, the path of truth and honesty, the welfare of others, and the embrace the way of truthfulness. It is the right method to spend life. It is not just about religion; it is about being a great person. And the another thing which plays a vital role in our culture is Ahimsa, which is non-violence, it explains to us the deep Concept of humanity and, harmony and harmlessness. It teaches us kindness and strictly prohibits cruelty and killing and hurting of animals. It also avoids war and believes in spreading peace. War only results in destruction while peace brings happiness. This concept of Ahimsa is not just limited for Hinduism, it is widespread in many religions like Buddhism, Jainism and many more.
The Bharatiya Sanskriti is very diverse as it focuses not solely on just one aspect, but it contains various aspects a great importance. It is a very ancient culture, it's evidence and stories are found in the history of India. The four Vedas which contain all the spiritual and important knowledge which acts as a pillar of out culture also believed to have originated many years ago, Even it's roots are also found in ancient civilizations like the Indian Valley Civilization, the people worshipped goddess shakti and god Nataraj (Form of word Shiva), who are still worshipped in Sanatana Dharma, And after civilizations, these traditions are in existence since the time of kings and kingdoms. The architecture and culture of south empires in South India were also very riched during since that time. The hospitality and generosity of the people of India are unmatched.
According to Bharatlyn Sanskritt, the four main goals of human life are Dharma which is the righteousness & our responsibility towards ethical life, Kama which referes to desire and enjoyment, along with pleasure; Artha, which Stands for wealth and prosperity, and ach stability in health, career and family family; and at last, Moksha, which is the final goal, and the liberation and freedom from the cycle of birth and death, our Bhartiya Sanskriti, our Dharma brings peace in our life and can teach us how to live happily. It ends all our desires and greed, and teaches us the concept of satisfaction. Whatever, we will receive, we will never be satisfied, it's human nature, but when we follow the dharma and the true and divine path of Bhakti, We devote ourselves to our god, and that's what which brings satisfaction and happiness, and it also brings a believe that no mother what happens our lord will also support us along with trust on ourselves & god.
Bhakti is also an important point as it he a wide and complex concept which holds many things in it. It plays an important role in understanding Bharatiya Sanskriti. Bhakti refers to the relationship between the Good and the devotee. It is the direct connection without the presence of any medium between them. It requires true devotion, dedication, sacrifice and quality of selflessness; any complex tradition and practice is not required, just call God from your heart. It's just between God and the devotee, no priest, no form of external rituals, nothing else is required. There were many Bhakti Saints in our history, too. They continued to teach and inspire people, and some of them expanded their influence across India.
Our Bharatiya Sanskriti is one of the oldest civilizations of the world. It existed for many years. Even in Prehistoric sites like Bhimbetka and Mehrgarh some evidence is found which shows human settlements and their ways of life in early times. Then, the Indus Valley civilization, which was the one of the world's earliest urban cultures, was the most advanced Civilization. It's main cities were Harappa, Mohenjo-daro and Dholavira. Later came the Vedic period and the development of early Indo-Aryan Society, Sanskriti, one of the oldest Indian languages and developed during this time, then the rise of larger kingdoms started and two new religions emerged, Buddhism and Jainism. Then, the famous, great Mauryan Empire emerged. During this empire, the Mauryan king Ashoka gave up war and realised the importance of non-violence, after the Kalinga war. The Gupta empire, also known as the Golden Age of India. During this period, some remarkable advancements in science, mathematics, astronomy, literature and art were seen.
Then, many kingdoms like Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Gurjara-pratiharas, Palas, Cholas, emerged, and these periods mark the development of various dance forms and architecture. Then the gradual arrival of Islamic Influence started. Dominated by the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal empire, it was a time which experienced significant changes in culture, art and architecture, influenced by the Mughals. Then, after the British rule, India gained independence in 1947, and it adopted modern methods influenced by the British. The colonial period marked many social & cultural changes in Indian societies.
Bharatiya Sanskriti has continued for many years, adapting Western influence but retaining its core values. And after being influenced from many cultures, Bharatiya Sanskriti has become diverse and has a mixed culture. Bharatiya Sanskriti is the best example of unity in diversity. After having many differences, we are connected together by Bharatiya Sanskriti. It is a thread connecting us together
Bharatiya Sanskriti is not just about a specific religion, it's about humanity, but it originates from Sanatana Dharma, the word Sanatana, which means never ending, it has no starting no ending. Thus, Bharatiya Sanskriti is a forever-existing culture. It shapes the person we become, it determines our personality, it shows the way, our character. In India, even the young kids are well-mannered. Not like foreign nations, they treat everyone with respect, are kind and gentle and touch the feet of elders to seek their blessings, while in other nations, the kids call elders by their name and show no sign of respect. There is a huge difference between Bhartiya sanskriti and other cultures. That's why our Bharat and Bhartiya Sanskriti is best. In India, we get manners from our family. Since childhood, our parents taught us basic manners like they told us to touch elders' feet and talk politely, believe in god, say good morning & good night by touching feet, give food to cows and dogs, and keep water for birds. These are the basic things that we learn in India at home. Now, India has it's influence across the world,
Yoga, which originated in India, is practised worldwide. Yoga is important for physical, mental and spiritual well-being. It improves our focus and makes us stars free. The Indian system is always different. Here In India, no matter how much we will grow, we will always live with our family, we live in a joint family, they provide us mutual support and skills, we learn to adjust and live happily among with so many people, and we will never feel lonely, always share, love and happiness. In India, we believe that Atithi Devo Bhava means guests are like gods and treat them with respect. That's why Indian hospitality is unmatched. Despite having religious diversity, we celebrate all festivals with Joy & happiness, showing cultural harmony and it is the biggest example of unity in diversity. These festivals are the reasons of our unity, they hold us close to each other and we get to know about others' cultures. It spreads happiness, positivity, joy & gratitude.
Like our culture, our literature is also very rich and diverse. The moral values, teachings and life lessons of Ramayana and Mahabharata guide us to lead a good life. India is very diverse, it has many varieties of food, dresses, people and languages; Despite these differences, we are united. We treat our nation, Bharat as Bharat maa, which is a form of a goddess, because our country gives us identity. It also gives us a land to live, food to eat and offers Security & protection. So, it's our duty to respect and protect our nation at any cost. We call it Bharat maa because it protects us like a mother.
Not only does our nation have differences, it's names are also different, they are - Ajnabhvarsh (land of Nabhi king); Himvarsha (the land of Himalayas), Aryvarta (the name of Aryans or noble ones), Kumaridweep ( Island of Virgin Goddess), Jambudweep (Jambu tree island), Hindustan ( Land of Hindus), Punya Bhoomi (Sacred land), Bharatkhanda (Segment of India), Al hind (The land of Hindus) & India (the land beyond the Indus).
Even our Indian Practices have science behind them. Like we apply tilak on our forehead in Hinduism, and according to science, applying pressure on the forehead helps us to calm the mind and improve concentration and retain energy. We ring bells when we enter the temple, we at because the vibration produced by it activates the body's seven chakras & spreads peace & positivity and purifies the environment. In our house, we sit in a cross-legged position on the floor to eat, it compresses the stomach, facilitating the release of digestive juices and is beneficial for digestion. And fasting is also a common practice in Hinduism, and science believes that it can improve metabolism, regulate blood sugar levels and maintain a healthy weight. Namaste, press pressure points on fingertips, promoting mindfulness and calmness. We chant om because om chanting calms the nervous system, improves the respiratory system, reduces stress and enhances focus. And we draw a swastika, cause it is an auspicious Symbol and can spread positivity. Offering water to the Shivling psychologically offers peace.
But with the development and increased results in many misconceptions about Hinduism, resulting in Hinduism's belief in many gods, but deep inside Hinduism, there is only one Superior god; others are its forms. Hindus worship idols; we do not worship idols.
An Idol is just a medium to connect to god, it is their representation, not the actual god itself. And the most rigid one that the horrible cast system & untouchability was created by Hinduism, but it is not true, Hinduism only states the Varna system, which was introduced to divide work, nothing else. Untouchability came many years after it. Also, there is a confusion in Hinduism that if there is only one god, then why is it said to have 33 koti gods in Hinduism?.
Some believe that there are 33 crore gods, but that's not true; there are 33 koti, not crore. They consist of 8 Vasus, 12 Adityas, Il Rudra and 2 Ashwini Kumars. They are all forms of god, but the superior is only one.
