Rivers that were once used to quench the thirst of predators,
Now flow in full force to take away the silent fortresses,
Rivers that once used to flourish the fields of farmers,
Now conquer them as if ravenous monsters,
Animals who used to be aloof from the seductors,
Now thrash towards them with quivering foot thuds,
Animals that used to churn peacefully on the green grass,
Now they are dumb founded in the search for their lost calves,
Skies that used to bless us with their enigmatic light,
Now bleed with colour of fright,
As if pleading with us to stop the reckless rites.
