Apparently, a month ago, Sushant Singh Rajput’s unexpected death shivered the entire world. His family, friends and fans came off to grieve for his loss deeply, as they should. But what has resulted in the aftermath of Sushant’s demise has been chaotic and disturbing. The news cycle is not ending, and different aspects of the tragedy are panning out with flying days.
Recently, Ankita Lokhande discussed on this topic in an interview with Arnab Goswami for ‘Republic TV’. The actress and Sushant Singh Rajput began their acting journey together, with the daily soap, ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in 2009, which was a massive hit. Ankita and Sushant were also in a relationship for six years before they divided their ways.
Speaking to Arnab Goswami, Sushant’s former girlfriend completely denied the cases that the ‘Dil Bechara’ star was going through a depression. She said, “I want to tell everyone right now that Sushant wasn’t the kind of guy who would be in depression. He was a happy go lucky guy. Sushant and I must have faced worse situations in our lives. After a certain time period, I started thinking about how could anybody be sure about suicide within 15 minutes. Aapne suddenly bol diya ye suicide hai, photos leak ho gayin, videos leak ho gaya.”
Ankita conveyed that she did not assume Sushant lived as a 'depressed or bipolar', and it was irrational to fly rumours about a person without understanding the exact story and furthermore she continued, “It's a very sad thing when people make up stories to portray him in their way. Do you even know who was Sushant? People are giving their own random version on Sushant and that hurts. I want to tell people, he was not a depressed man. He was a passionate guy. He was like a child who used to get happy having gulab jamun and chocolate. He used to say that if nothing happens in the film industry then I will make my own short film. I don't know what the situation was, but I want to tell people, he was not a depressed guy.”
She also noted on the story of Sushant frequently switching the SIM cards of his phone, and not remaining in touch with his family. She said, “I am very sure there is someone out there who knows the truth. There has to be somebody who knows why he was changing the number... Sushant aisa insaan hi nahi tha, number change kar raha hai, apni behno se baat nahi kar raha hai, apne papa se baat nahi kar raha hai.” Furthermore, a special team of the Bihar Police met Ankita at her residence in Malad to record her statement.
Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput's father filed an FIR against actor Rhea Chakraborty, accusing her of abetment of suicide, among other things. According to the report of the Indian EXPRESS, 31 July 2020, an FIR lodged in Patna by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's father K. K. Singh in which he accused her of theft, cheating and abetment to suicide. The FIR has been filed under IPC Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating). Of these, the offence of cheating falls under the category of predicate offences. Hours after the case against actress Rhea Chakraborty and her relatives in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, she broke her silence in the case saying that “the truth shall prevail” and she also released a video explaining her side of the story.
All of this expands with more unrest and bitterness among the people. Perhaps it’s time for our tribunal to operate more rigidly and promptly on this case to end this chaos and to let Sushant Singh Rajput finally rest in peace...
