We have always heard about some human beings having some extraordinary talents and it just needs to be refined suitably. Only when this kind of talent becomes someone's passion, the world gets to recognise it. And one such name has been recognized by the world today, but his amazing journey has been hidden for long. It is the story of India's only nail artist, Wajid Khan, an artist who lives by his talent and creativity.

Mr Wajid Khan has astonished numerous people with unusual creative arts like nail art, stone art, automobile art, bullet art and many more that are simply marvellous. Mr Wajid Khan was born on 10th March 1981 in a small town called Jawra in Madhya Pradesh. Wajid was not so good in studies and his life was different since he was a kid. For example, when he and his family lived under a broken roof, he could imagine bright sun rays passing through them as blessings from God whereas others found it as a problem. His people always addressed him as a strangely odd person but only his mother understood him and motivated him to become who he wants and believe that he will make everyone proud one day. And when he was as 10 years old, he discovered his talent. When his uncle's tape got damaged and everyone lost hope in it, Wajid used the tools and opened the tape and repaired it very easily. But when Wajid tried to convince others that it was his work no one believed him except his mother. When a child is not good at studies and behaves strangely, he is misunderstood as weak and foolish. Even Wajid was forced by his family and friends to behave normally and study. He was extremely good at machinery and imaginations, and he repaired a lot of electronic as well, but others could not see it as a talent.

With all the hatred, Wajid left his home at the tender age of 14 with only Rs 1300 with him. Multiple thoughts confused his mind while he was walking on the railway track all alone but he somehow managed to reach Ahmedabad, and he started selling old clothes. However, the creative person in him was poking him and he went to back to Mansaur to start developing a small electric press which he visualised. And at that time, even he did not know that he was developing the ‘Smallest Electric Press (Iron)’ of the world. Wajid Khan's visualisation became a reality and he met people who helped him to reach the Guinness Book of World Records and at the age of 14, he became a world record holder. Later, Wajid broke his record of iron of 1 inch for the iron of 0.5 inches. Many of his creations were awarded by Presidential and international awards. The smallest working ship was one of Wajid's early creations. After Wajid Khan's first record, he moved to Indore for his further studies in the field of arts.

Today, Wajid Khan's various art forms like nail art, shadow art, metal art, kinetic art have won numerous awards. His shadow art of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel garnered a lot of appreciation and was later placed under Madhya Pradesh's administration. In June 2012, recognizing his speciality, nail art, Wajid was named in the Guinness Book of World Records. He also entered into the Limca Book of Records for creating 3D portraits of Jesus, Mother Mary, Mahatma Gandhi, Dhirubhai Ambani, etc. Currently, Wajid Khan holds 37 world records and 8 patents. One of his artworks is part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official home of the President of India. He was also awarded by the former president of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, for his contributions toward various art forms.

Wajid Khan believes that education based on words and letters cannot define you but if you know what you want, work hard for it and learn from it, you can achieve anything. Many people say that ‘only craziness can achieve success’ and Wajid Khan stood up to this phrase all his life. A person who was wandering alone on the railway tracks has now become a renowned artist and has unimaginably defined distinct artforms. Wajid Khan has proved that if a person aims to be themselves, they can achieve anything in this world.
