Elon Musk financed $100 million in a start-up named NeuraLink in 2016, which will create a digital connection between the human brain and a computer. It is like a chip in the human skull with fragile wires.
Recently, inventor Elon Musk has planted a chip in the mind of a pig named Gertrude, to test the cures for dementia or paralysis. He demonstrated the experiment, its results and his plans in a webcast on 28 August 2020. Elon also dubbed Gertrude as Cypork, which is a connection to ‘Cyborg’, a mutant made of human and machine character brought up by DC comics in the 80s. Elon Musk clarifies that the crucial intention for the computer-chip implant is to acquire human understanding with artificial intelligence. Like a pig, Gertrude ate food and wandered during the Musk's demonstration, but her mind movements appeared on a computer pursuing her mind neurons.
The computer-chip was equipped through a tiny gap in the skull behind the ear. Musk also said that the computer-chip is like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires. Elon Musk referred at Gertrude and explained that link can detect the indications of mind attached to muscle actions and it will ultimately be able to cure the disorders. The Surgeries of these disorders will be bloodless because detectors navigating a robotic trimming tool will resist striking any blood vessels of the body. Elon Musk also claims that these chips will be able to understand things like memory loss, hearing loss and blindness.
Elon Musk claims that this operation of NeuraLink has been already examined on a monkey that was proficient to control a computer with its brain. He also insists that in the coming years, humans will be eligible to save and replay their memories and can download them into a new body. Elon Musk often confronts a lot of criticism over his out of the box thinking.
Elon Musk's company, the NeuraLink has moreover assigned to US officials to begin the human trials of its device. He believes that human brain neurons are like wiring and we require an electronic gadget to figure out an electronic difficulty.
