Binge-watching new movies and TV series on the internet is a promising way to get entertained, and Netflix is probably the biggest option for streaming some good shows like Harry Potter and Star Wars. It is the biggest streaming platform in the world, with a variety of movies, series, documentaries, and so on. Netflix delivers content in most of the genres, with multiple languages. Movies like Star Wars and Harry Potter on Netflix are very popular among the viewers. But recently, the CEO of Netflix announced that the firm still has a ‘long way to go’ to create its own franchises like Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Reed Hastings, the CEO of Netflix was in an interview with ‘The Hollywood Reporter’. He was questioned that, what he learned from Hollywood, and he said that Netflix has a ‘long way to go’ before it creates its own series like Hollywood's Star Wars and Harry Potter, and they are intending to get at that phase. He believes that Netflix is making some great series and making great progress with ‘Stranger Things’, and other franchises. But they haven't reached the original level of Harry Potter and Star Wars.


Star Wars was the primary epic sci-fi space adventure to be displayed on a grand scale. It transformed the views of the global audience about the sci-fi dramas. Today, it is famous because of its amazing adventure stories, and out of the world conditions.

On the other hand, Harry Potter on Netflix is popular because of the creative and incredible writing of J. K. Rowling. Harry Potter portrays the magical representation of ordinary life problems. It is popular because it revolves around magic and still manages to depict some real-life matters, and thus, people can easily relate to Harry Potter. Even other fantasy series deliver similar content, and thus today, they are striving to create more content like Harry Potter on Netflix.

Ampere Analysis's data shows that Netflix's altogether percentage of fantasy and sci-fi boards like Harry Potter on Netflix saw an upward movement at the start of 2019. In that period, Netflix had 41 sci-fi TV shows in production. In recent times, Netflix has hopped into fantasy like Netflix's Harry Potter and sci-fi franchise like Star Wars, and similarly with comic books and video games. Last year, the fantasy drama ‘The Witcher’ became one of Netflix's biggest TV shows. Now, the prequel of ‘The Witcher’ and an Anime movie are already in the process. Moreover, Netflix announced that the former, ‘Game of Thrones’ directors, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss will write and produce a series named, ‘Three-Body Problem’, based on a sci-fi book trilogy by the Chinese author Liu Cixin. In August, they declared openly that a fresh live-action series established on the ‘Resident Evil’ video games is also in the works.


As Netflix resides as the top TV and movie streaming platform, it is now expanding its genres and stories, which will provide the viewers with more likable content to watch. Netflix is always equivalent to binge-watching, and the coming Netflix shows are likewise loaded with binge-worthy picks for its audience.
