Homeopathy is one of the most popular medical systems which are practiced in India and all over the world. It is a whole medical science which compared to other systems holds clear intentions to wipe out illness from its roots. It personalizes the treatment to each individual, and it may be more economical than regular pharmaceutical medicines. Homeopathy is the way to heal by the doctrine in which likes are cured by likes. This unique method was brought up by an acclaimed scientist, a great scholar, and a linguist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, and World Homeopathy Day is celebrated in Dr. Samuel’s honor on April 10. This German physician was born in Paris and he is also known as the father of the Homeopathy system of medicines. This day is celebrated to honor the birth of the father of the Homeopathy system of medicines Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. In India, the system of homeopathy comes under the purview of the AYUSH Ministry. And the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy in New Delhi in association with the AYUSH Ministry will be organizing a scientific conference on this World Homeopathy Day 2021, with the theme, “Roadmap for Integrative Medicine”.
The core aim of this day is to spread knowledge about Homeopathic medicine in public health. In fact, from 10 April to 16 April World Homeopathy Week is celebrated annually which is organized by the World Homeopathy Awareness Organization. Essentially, this day is celebrated both for homeopaths and similarly for those who have been healed with homeopathy. The history of Homeopathy in India is linked with the name of Dr. Honigberger, who was a French man who brought homeopathy to India. The French man arrived at Lahore in 1829-1830 and was later invited to treat Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab. Dr. Honigberger was also attached to the Court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He, later on, went to Calcutta and began practice there, where he was majorly known as the ‘Cholera Doctor’.
Accordingly, homeopathy was introduced in India in the early 19th century, and it flourished in Bengal at first and then spread all over India. Mahendra Lal Sircar was the first Indian who became a homeopathic physician, and then several allopathic doctors started homeopathic practice following Mr. Sircar’s lead in India. Today, numerous people in India follow homeopathic medications and treatments, and these treatments never interfere with other medications taken by an individual. It is considered completely safe, and not harmful at all even if by chance an incorrect remedy has been selected. This medication system is curative, not suppressive with many advantages, and some of the advantages of homeopathy are given below.
One of the major goals of homeopathy is to bring about a change in the human body to make it respond in a better way and to get the system right in place. India has become one of the biggest homeopathic drug manufacturers and traders globally. In our nation, homeopathy is as popular as Ayurveda, both of which fall under the regulations of the AYUSH Ministry. And this unique system of treating illnesses has become one of the most trusted medical systems in India.
