Life's biggest challenges sometimes lie in the shift in perspective.
If you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels would more likely be productive than energy devoted to patching leaks. Society has conditioned many people to believe in the “ I am not a quitter… vibe.”However, this is not a strength but a cage for many. Staying in a leaky boat is not loyalty. It is fear disguised as perseverance.
You can never find alignment by clinging on rather you find it in a vessel that can carry you forward. Without a change in vessel, a man's life is a waste of grace.
Clarity often comes through the pursuit and not before it. Despite the uncertainty, you must turn inward to strengthen your body and nourish your mind. It is only when you get honest with your emotions that you reconnect with what makes you feel alive. Alignment with your highest self is what eventually makes you a magnet of purpose. The path does not always appear when you stare at the map. It shows up when you start walking.
A door is bigger than the lock, and the lock is bigger than the key. Yet it is the tiny key that opens it all. If anyone does not appreciate the privilege of your presence, shift perspective and give them the gift of your absence.
According to Lyssa Dehart, Coach, mentor and educator, several perspective shifts can change your life. She articulates that they are not easy but will eventually work through persistence and consistency, so you will be ultimately more empowered to be the best version of yourself.
Practice your powerful pose daily and with it affirm your powerful phrase to go with it.
Forgive yourself and everyone else.
The grace of forgiving helps to lighten our load and gives energy to do better. It also gives you the freedom to move forward.
Narrow your focus to what matters most.
This will give you space to breathe, decide and prioritise. Time is the most precious of all commodities; therefore, you must learn to set aside all distractions from things that could be unproductive.
The key to a successful life is about taking control of our perceptions so we can connect to a truth that will allow us to grow and succeed, no matter what we are presented with.
Walter Mischel is quoted as follows: “If you change how you think about it, its impact on what you feel and do changes. “
His quote is a nice, tidy summary of the whole idea of shifting your perspective. If you want to see something through a different lens, you must change how it is impacting your life. The seemingly simple act of looking at it differently can be all that is needed to accomplish it.
According to Jorge from his article on Jan 26, 2003, in game-changer.net in the Category of Entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and strategy: “Shifting perspective allows us to step back and see the problem from a different angle, which can help us to identify new solutions and opportunities. It also helps to reduce bias and improve decision-making. It stops living on assumptions to work towards effectively achieving desired goals. “
Erik Pevernagie: “If we do not want life to pass us by while the world is swivelling around us, then we must look inwards and turn things upside down in the inner chambers of our minds. “
Promotion of self-care through journaling, meditation and exercise. Fostering open conversation via workshops, support groups and book clubs. Community engagement through events like walks, fundraisers or art projects, music and dance. Your perspective will become your prison or your passport.
It is said that when a photographer cannot change a scene, he changes his angle and lens to capture the best of that scene. Similarly, when you cannot change a situation in your life, change your perspective and mindset to get the best out of that situation.
Shifting your perspective not only changes your reality, it changes how you experience it. It is not only what you look at that matters, but also how you see it. Remember, you are not at the mercy of your emotions. Change your mind and change your life.
