A deeply disturbing incident from Pune district has shocked the nation, where a 4-year-old girl was brutally assaulted and murdered by a 65-year-old man on May 1. The crime, which took place in Bhor tehsil, has triggered widespread outrage and protests in the local community.
The accused, who works as a labourer, has a criminal history. He was booked on charges of molestation in 1998 and 2015 and later acquitted in both cases, according to police and is now booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The person in the video is not truly human; he is a monster in human form who carried out an inhumane act on the child.
The man holding the little girl’s hand should not be mistaken for a human being.
What he did is so disgusting and horrifying that it can shake anyone to their core. This incident took place in Pune.
Before continuing, imagine two visuals: on one side, CCTV footage showing a 65-year-old man holding the hand of a 4-year-old girl and walking away; on the other side, people protesting on the streets, demanding justice for the child.
The case comes from Bhor tehsil in Pune district. A 4-year-old girl, who had come to her grandparents’ house for vacation, became the victim of this brutal crime. The accused, a 65-year-old man named Bhimrao Kamble, committed this heinous act.
The child was playing outside her house when the man approached her, spoke to her for a couple of minutes, and lured her into trusting him. Unaware of his intentions, the innocent child went along with him.
He took her to a cattle shed, where he committed the crime. After that, he struck her head with a heavy object, killing her. He then hid her body under a pile of cow dung and fled the scene, believing no one would discover what he had done.
When the child did not return home for a long time, her family began searching for her. They asked neighbours and searched the entire village. Eventually, they checked the cattle shed where the man had taken her. There, beneath a pile of cow dung, they found her body.
The family was devastated and immediately informed the police. During the investigation, CCTV footage revealed the man taking the child away. The police quickly identified him as the suspect, took him into custody, and questioned him. He later confessed to the crime.
The news spread rapidly, causing outrage in the village. People took to the streets, demanding strict punishment for the accused. Protesters blocked roads, including the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, causing major traffic disruptions.
Police officials arrived at the scene to control the situation and assured the public that a chargesheet would be filed within 15 days. Heavy police deployment was made to manage the anger of the crowd.
The entire village is in shock and anger. People are demanding the harshest possible punishment. The brutality of the act has left everyone questioning how someone could commit such a crime against an innocent child who didn’t even understand right from wrong.
Currently, the accused is in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are collecting all possible evidence to ensure strict punishment.
"The post-mortem findings point to death due to asphyxia. Prima facie, the accused gagged the victim by stuffing a cloth in her mouth, which led to suffocation," a senior police official said. The autopsy report also indicated injuries on the child's body, he added.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday (May 3, 2026) assured that the government will push for a death penalty for the accused and said the State will fast-track the trial to ensure justice in "record time".
The family of the accused has also demanded that he be given the strictest punishment.
