The truth was finally exposed on Sunday when a 5-year-old son accused his father of abhorrent behaviour. Father had been sexually abusing him and threatened him to throw off the terrace if he apprised his mother of the situation. "If you tell your mother I'll throw you off the terrace...!" Father perpetrates abuse on a 5-year-old child. The brutal threat of being thrown from the roof left him completely overwhelmed, breaking his innocent spirit and making him feel utterly helpless and alone. Mother complaint the file in Satara police about the case against the 32-year-old father. A POCSO case has been registered.
A cross-culturally married couple reside with their two children in the Satara area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. On April 3, the five-year-old's birthday. His mother noticed his quietness and terror. At just five years old, the little boy was left carrying a terrifying burden far too heavy for any child. He was trapped in constant fear, silenced by a parent who was supposed to protect him. Acting on this, she tried to ease him, and finally, the child let his mother in on the secret. He exposed his father's cruel acts, repeatedly touching him inappropriately and molesting him. According to the child, these incidents occurred between January 2025 and February 2026. The Sub-Inspector Govind Ekilwale is now charged with this case.
He was living through a non-stop nightmare, paralysed by the fear that he was terrified to even look to his mother for help. Meanwhile, the mother finds herself entangled in social shame. This heavy trauma eventually broke through his silence. The innocent child now knows the terror of his father, making him carry the scars that no five-year-old should ever have to bear.
Living under the same roof as an abuser means the trauma is continuous. There was no safe zone, no moment of peace, and no escape from the predatory behaviour. Every single day for over a year, the child had to look at his oppressor and pretend everything was normal. The psychological toll of pretending to be okay while enduring severe abuse causes deep developmental scars that require extensive, specialised counselling to heal.
The mother of the victim also faced domestic abuse and has been frequently physically abused over and over. Sick and tired of this, the woman had gone to her parents' home. The woman admitted that she delayed the decision of going to the police for a complaint due to fear of social disgrace and her poor health, and had been staying in the city for a while. Reportedly, she said that while she was in Parbhani, her husband and father-in-law had also mistreated her.
This reveals that the entire household was operating under a culture of severe domestic tyranny. The father's violence was widespread, targeting both his wife and his vulnerable child to maintain absolute authority. When the mother fled to Parbhani, she was searching for a sanctuary, only to find that the reach of her abusers extended beyond the walls of their Satara home. This continuous cycle of victimisation left her physically depleted and emotionally isolated.
Initially, the mother felt trapped in silence. She feared social stigma and the ruin of family reputation. The fear was worsened when her husband threatened to throw the boy off the terrace. With the passage of time, the mother became heartbroken as the little boy's mental health deteriorated, and his behaviour showed signs of deep trauma.
The weaponisation of social stigma is a powerful tool used by abusers to enforce silence. In many conservative circles, the fear of public shame, rumours, and ostracisation can feel as paralysing as physical violence. The mother was forced into an agonising calculation, weighing the preservation of family honour against the worsening safety of her child. It was only when she witnessed her son's psychological deterioration—manifesting as profound withdrawal and unprovoked panic attacks—that she realised silence would cost her son his life.
Locals from the Shinde Sena stepped in to support the family. With the official walking right beside them for support, the mother finally felt safe enough to stand up for her son and decided she could not stay silent. She filed a complaint, and the police immediately stepped in to protect the boy.
The moment those local community members stepped up changed everything. It completely broke the isolation the father had used to keep them trapped for so long. By walking side-by-side with the mother all the way to the police station, they gave her a real sense of safety—a shield against her husband’s anger and the harsh judgment of the neighbourhood. Now that the truth is out, Sub-Inspector Govind Ekilwale is leading the investigation under the strict rules of the POCSO Act. The entire focus has shifted to building a solid case and making sure this father is held accountable, so he can never hurt another child again.
