At the time of Satyug – in a mid-conversation happening between Arjuna and Lord Krishna during the Mahabharata, lord Krishna awakened Arjuna, that whatever has happened with Draupadi today, the same and more of it will be taking place in Kalyug. Humans will forget their humanity, and this will take place again and again in Kalyug. It will become very hard to stop humans from their own deeds.

Today, I feel Lord Krishna was right, in the generation of Kalyug, where crime is at its peak, and nobody cares what is happening around them – they just keep on moving without showing any humanity.

There was a very famous series which recently got hype because of its concept and storyline – ‘Chiraiya’. The movie told us about how important it is to take consent from your wives before indulging with her in any such activity. How important it is to protect her self-esteem and peace. The movie doesn’t only tell us about the consent and all, but a very important thing – if a woman is not safe in her own house, then what is the point of the word ‘protection’?

At the beginning of May, a horrific crime took place in the Morbi district of Gujarat. A man allegedly allowed his landlord and a relative to sexually assault his wife and her 13-year-old daughter. It was found out that the family was living on rent at the landlord's place, but due to financial distress, the family was unable to pay the rent of over 2000. How scary it is for a wife and a daughter to know that their own husband and father, respectively, is the one responsible for what happened to them. This situation tells us that the husband was unable to pay the rent, so he sacrificed her own wife and a 13-year-old daughter to repay it.

Is a barter system still going on in today's generation? But on what, good or services or rent payment or on your own family – if a husband did something wrong, then a wife or a daughter should pay back for it – what type of caring is this, what type of relation is this? This incident is the utmost stupidity and horrific at the same time.

But with this, it is also very important for a woman to take her own stand in these things happening with them. In many cases, women step back in taking their own stand, and crimes like this keep happening. We live in a generation where a person speaks for his /her own individuality, they scream it, then why does it become so scary for women to take their own stand and say no in such cases?

After the incident took place, the complaint was filed on May 1 2026. at the Morbi City A Division Police Station by the victims' mother and grandmother under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act. But what is this POCSO Act?

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) is an Indian law enacted in 2012 to protect children (any person below 18 years) from sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and pornography. Under this act, both boys and girls are protected from such activities, and so, the POCSO act was applied in the incident of Gujarat, because a father allowed a landlord of 55 years old to sexually harass her own 13-year-old girl, which is utmost shameful thing to listen to. A father is considered the biggest supporter of a daughter in anything she does, but what happens when the same father turns out to be a person who allows her daughter to be harassed?

Today, both the husband and the landlord both have been arrested and charged for this shameful crime they committed. Our system and society take these situations on a hype for some days and then forgets about it within some days – this is really wrong, due to this, many crimes take place – if the criminals are not held responsible for the crime at the right time, then what is the meaning of punishing them. A punishment is given at the same time, a crime is committed, but our system takes years and years to figure out whether the person is really responsible or it is just a joke in this society.

When these criminals are developed and born, many acts and laws are also born with them – it is very important as a woman or a girl to know about these acts, to know when to use them and make them into action. Women are always considered as a personality who sacrifices and doesn’t utter a word if she is feeling unsafe or is stuck in a situation, but today is the time to stand for yourself because,

If you’re not safe in your own household, then there is something seriously wrong going to happen.
